Which Version of The Show?

I'm new to the franchise and looking for some information on the game and past versions. I'm interested in historical stadiums and rosters (most especially).

I've seen that MLB 20 has a wide assortment of historical seasons. However it didn't have downloadable stadiums?

For MLB 21, there is a selection of historical stadiums, however, the number of rosters seems lower (more listed elsewhere)? Perhaps they are harder to create?

So I'm looking at what version to get. Is there a cutoff/EOL on when you can no longer download old historical rosters and stadiums?

Or am I better off just getting MLB 23, waiting for good downloads there?

First…..I’d skip 21. Underwhelming. There were things lacking in the stadium creator that improved in 22.

I’m playing 20 currently. Great game, great player vault. The game does have a dozen or so older stadiums….Sportsman’s Park, etc.

In 22 I’m not sure I saw a bunch of older stadiums that were created. I did see a bunch of minor league stadiums. The creator does not allow you absolute perfection when replicating, but creators might come close.

The stadium creators will have to start from scratch in 23, no carryovers, and we don’t know the improvements yet.

For me…..absolutely going with 23. 22 was a great game look for 23 to be even better.

Rosters dried-up after MLBTS 20 (but that game did not have a stadium creator - which is specific only to current gen platforms).

The problem with current gen is that after MLBTS20, SDS stopped supporting carryover saves. So, every new iteration of the game, new rosters need to be created from scratch. Most of the best roster guys have basically said "Screw it" and have given-up (and I don't blame them). In the past, it was a lot more straightforward for them.

If you REALLY want the stadiums, you're best-off buying a year behind the current game (so I'd get MLBTS 22 now). If having a variety of rosters is more important, you're best off getting MLBTS20 and playing that on current gen platforms. If you get '23, you'll be waiting for a few months before any meaningful roster work (i.e. 90 man rosters) is complete.

Ah….ok. Like I said I wasn’t sure, don’t do Reddit. 22 stadium creator is better than 21 tho.
