Good freaking night.

I know everyone has things that matter to them that don't matter to other people, but man, I have been asking for 7+ years for the devs to just get rid of the crown mow pattern at Kauffman Stadium. That's a relic from the 2014-2015 World Series teams. It's so unrealistic to see that for every single game for 7+ iterations of this game now.

I fully admit I am not a programmer but I can't imagine that is more than, what, a half day of work? Tops?

(Sorry... end rant)

Same with the upper deck tarps in Oakland. I'm sure it'd be a bit more work to remove those, but it's been almost six years since they were removed in real-life...

I'm honestly starting to wonder what changes they DID make...

RTTS is basically the same mode.
Franchise now has presentation and commentary on the same stream so that couldn't have changed much.
Graphics look relatively the same since 2013.

So.... What did they change besides changing the throwing meter and a new scorebug? Man I hope the next stream has a lot because if this is what they've worked on for the past year, I want a job at SDS now.

MLB THE SHOW 22.5 is basically what the game is looking like if you don't count DD. The negro leagues addition is cool but I'm sure it's going to be as shallow as everything else in the game.

The RTTS premiere was less than 15 minutes if you don't count the face scan and the new bat sounds.
So the fact of franchise sharing a premiere with presentation and commentary tells you everything you need to know about changes to franchise. The one change they hinted in a previous trailer was the draft player UI so beyond that I doubt there will be anything new.

They literally are bringing back "features" from years ago and are touting it as a new thing. On-field training being the big RTTS feature is hilarious. This dev team continues to get a total pass for phoning it in again. It'd be comical if it wasn't so sad.

Their major upgrades this year are:

- they kinda changed the throwing meter
- they moved some menus around
- New (old) on-field RTTS training

I think they turned the negro leagues addition into a pet project and didn’t do too much else to the game. And I love the addition, but sometimes it feels like they spent the year putting together an interactive documentary and forgot they have the rest of the video game waiting for attention.

It really looks like Sony took the whole development cycle off for 23.

It’s going to be real hard for me to pull the 70 bucks out of my wallet for sure from what we have seen this far. And I have bought every version from the beginning.
