So speed and contact should be down

    Trout- another amazing player
Played 119 games last yr so Durability should be lower
Also only 80 RBI's and 1 steal in those 119 games so clutch and BR or Speed should be tuned down

    Just my Opinion though
I'm sure those ratings are relatively lower, those things just don't change OVR that much.

Also speed is tied more to statcast sprint speed not just stolen bases

His speed and contact could be in the teens and he'd still be a 99 overall.

It's why overall is a useless stat across every sports game and should be eliminated

For one, Ohtani was 11/20 in steals, not 9/20. For two, I think you're misunderstanding which stats impact which ratings. Steals don't determine speed. Steals determine Stealing. Sprint Speed determines Speed. Ohtani ran 28.3 ft/s last year, which is better than 75% of the league. He should have a pretty high speed. Strikeouts determine vision, not contact. I'd expect his vision to be around 50, and his contact to be 60s-70s.

You understand that 80 RBI in 119 games is good, right? That's well over 100 RBI in a full season. And, again, steals aren't the determining stat for anything but steal. Trout ran 29.4 ft/s, faster than 94.7% of the league. He's one of the fastest players in baseball, he should have elite speed.

Running a franchise would feel more rewarding without overalls to judge players.

You could just choose to ignore overalls. That's usually what I do when I play franchise. I just look at the ratings for areas of need.

I like having an overall rating but anyone would have a fool as a GM
if they made a decision on who bats where in the lineup,
which free agent to sign, who to trade for, or basically any other baseball related matter,
basing their judgment of a players worth on overall.
this separates the discerning eye from the run-of-the-mills GM's of the Show afaic

Laureano was in last year OOTB and was suspended to start the year too. So we shall see. He’s the hope I have he’ll be in. Especially after the video today. Maybe just a FA?

Crap I forgot about that, guess we’ll see then.

If Tatis is in then Conforto, etc better be in the game.

Anyone can win if you put the settings low. This one guy was playing franchise with detroit last year claimed the settings were on high and went 150-12 lol. No way they were on high.

But you will feel so much better a few seasons in when you take them to the playoffs

It's a little different because Tatis was on a roster last year. Players that are on the 60-day IL still gain service time, and many of those have still made the Opening Day rosters as such. I think the MLBPA still considers players on the IL as being active for the purposes of being included in licensing. Mike Soroka and Kirby Yates were both in the game last year from launch (and I believe Soroka was also in the Tech Test for 23) despite not playing since 2020. While Tatis was suspended during the season, he didn't start the year as being suspended. So he'd still be eligible to be a part of the licensing agreement.

Conforto, on the other hand, wasn't on the IL despite being injured. Because he wasn't signed. So he accrued no service time. If he's not eligible to be a part of the licensing agreement, I don't think there's really anything SDS can do to include him.
