    Realistic difficulty setting

Specifically in Franchise mode against CPU. What does everyone like to use?

I've settled on AS hitting and HoF pitching the last few years of this game. Consistently get realistic results.

I try HoF hitting occasionally but really struggle with my swing timing.

I've been pretty much where your at,but with the tech test I was mashing at All star, moved uo to HOF default , played with both teams and really did not have trouble hitting. And for the most part the cpu did not have trouble hitting against me. As always though,we will see when the game comes out.

Mine changes from year to year. I typically start off on dynamic to help me settle into my proper difficulty. In 22 I played all star on both sides of the plate. Some years I’m up on HoF and occasionally I’ve even had to hit on veteran.

        Dynamic -
and I usually hover on the low end of all-star while batting,
the high end of all-star while pitching

For hitting, I use Dynamic Difficulty. Last year I was mostly around Veteran+ to All-Star+, but I did dip down to Veteran for a bit, and managed to get all the way up to Hall of Fame at another point.

For pitching, I use All-Star. I tried doing Dynamic Difficulty, but (at least with the sliders I was using and classic pitching) the game actually got easier as I advanced in difficulty. To the point where on legend+, even though my strikeouts were down, my ERA was lower than on All-Star. So I stopped using Dynamic Difficulty for pitching after several games on legend+.

Something I’ve always thought about but haven’t been able to prove to myself… somebody please help me think this through lol

If you were using dynamic difficulty for everything, would it really matter what team you used? I mean, by the end of the season, wouldn’t you just more likely be an average team no matter if you were the Yankees, Dodgers, Pirates, or Nationals right? Because the difficulty would change for better or worse, just kinda keeping you average?

            Or, am I missing something?

if you are really good, dynamic will take you all the way to legend, and there are people good enough to win consistently on legend with even the cellar dwellers.
not me, other people, I'm doing good to make the post-season on dynamic all-star

I think I'm one of the unicorns of this game, every year since The Show 2016 I've been playing Franchise on Legend hitting and pitching with maxed out pitch speeds and Sliders that basically takes about 50 hours to marinate before I start the regular season. And I play every game from spring training to full 162 game season with every pitch.

                    Re: Realistic difficulty setting

On the dev stream they talked about how a point of emphasis was more swings and misses and less foul balls. My gripe last year was on classic pitching HOF was too easy, and legend didn’t get enough K’s. I’m hoping that legend is the best option for pitching out of the gate.

HOF directional hitting is usually pretty solid for me out of the gate though.

I'm horrible at hitting. Lately, I have settled on Veteran Hitting and HOF Pitching. Some games I score a decent amount, other times I barely get any hits. Feels realistic to me. Only problem is I feel like I don't K enough now haha weird gripe but facing good pitchers, I feel there should be more. Maybe balancing out foul balls and swings and misses will help.
