    Xbox Series X or PS5?

So I just got a PS5 and I have played this game on the Series X the last few years. Are there any real advantages to the PS5 version?

Does the controller really make a difference? Is the framerate better? Or is it a wash?

I could spend $100 on the Digital Deluxe version on PS5 or get it early on Xbox for $45. I don't necessarily mind spending the extra money, but is there anything that makes it worth that extra money.

    Thanks!

I personally wouldn't want the ''free'' xbox version because I like having my games permanently. I still play every Show 14-21 on a consistent basis because of the different rosters. that's my take on having a game permanently versus temporarily anyways fwiw

and now I'm gonna play devil's advocate, just because I can:

if decided the xbox game pass version was the way to go, I could then always later on find an extremely cheap used disc copy of 23 a year from now.

sorry, Varck, I'm not really much help in deciding after all

I played both versions of test beta of the PS5 and Series X and can confidently say PS5 played so much better. I have played the Game Pass X versions but this year going with PS5 due to better frame rates and performance.

I've heard this a couple times now. I also did notice some framerate drops during the tech test on Xbox. Especially on foul balls.

Does the controller functionality play any part in making the game better on PS5?

I'm probably not much help either. I played MLB 22 on series X. Played 20 and 21 on PS5. To me, I didn't notice any difference but it wasn't an actual apple for apple comparison as wasn't same version. I prefer the PS5 controller but this is just personal preference.

As a user noted above, you can play on Gamepass and then if you want to buy later you can get it cheap (currently $10 on Amazon).

One advantage XBox does have if you have Gamepass is that the game was available with Cloud Play so if that is something you do, you can play it away from home on cloud (assuming 23 will be the same).
