Probably since they included the "Include Legends in Free Agent Pool" toggle when you start a franchise for the past decade

Ok, I'll be the first boring guy to say that as someone who was an adult during that time and felt for the first time that baseball had let me down with all the steroid users, I'm not thrilled to see them adding this. But memories are short I suppose and nobody remembers the hours and hours of players testifying before Congress and the black eye that left on the sport. Baseball has never quite been the same for me since seeing those guys like embarassed buffoons tarnishing the sport that wasn't all that squeaky clean to begin with. Never has been, really. But this was a step too far. Whatever, personal opinion, but baseball died for me a bit 20 years ago and never came fully back to life after that. But again, I'm probably the boring older guy.
Is it different cause it's a game? No. Because for the same impact the Negro League players might have this year, the game runs the risk of turning two cheaters into legitimate players. Again, my opinion, keep your criticism of my views to yourself.

Ok how do I get all the DD legends in a franchise? I mean all of them, Babe Ruth through Sammy Sosa - including the new ones added through the year? What about putting some on a roster for exhibition play?

Edit rosters in the main menu. Press L1 cycle through the teams legends will be in free agents and other categories. Assign them to teams. Save roster. Load roster. Go to franchise or exhibition and continue its an easy process. You could also just turn on free agent legends if you don’t want to add them for franchise. Unfortunately you will have to restart for new legends added throughout the year

Forums don't really work that way. You voice your opinion on a public forum and you can expect feedback.

Do we then exclude Tatis Jr? Robinson Cano? Nelson Cruz?

Or do we give passes to those still playing the game and were caught and served their suspensions, but not to those who were never caught while they were still playing?

Unfortunately Sosa doesn't have the red bill on his batting helmet wearing the away uniform.

The Cubs have had the same road uniform for the most part since 1997. From 1997-2008 the road caps/batting helmets had red brims. It does not look like SDS will ad a proper Cubs away uniform (1990-1993 or 1994-1996). Instead it looks like SDS added the 1959 uniforms as well based on a leaked photo a few weeks back.

                    Time heals wounds.

Because, whether it is positive or negative, this is a part of baseball history. Don't have to like it. But that doesn't change the fact that it happened. The Black Sox scandal happened and was a stain on baseball, but it is a part of the history of baseball anyway. And the game recovered. Don't have to like that it happened but doesn't change the fact that it did happen. The game has recovered. Other players have been caught and punished, yet are and still will be in the game.

Two players being in the game will not taint the game nor make them into legitimate players. It is neutral. It happened in the past. And this isn't the hall of fame. It's a video game.

And just for informational, if you post something for the public to read/see, you should expect criticism/discussion on said topic.

Criticism and discussion I have no problem with. That was more a warning for the incessant trolls that seem to not be able to discuss without getting personal, insulting, and angry because one doesn't share the opinion of the masses. In short my opinion should certainly be cause for disagreement, but not cause for attack of my opinion. And there is far too much of the latter online.
But I have no problem with what you or @Dolenz said. I'm not suggesting these bad things didn't happen, I am simply submitting my belief that they shouldn't be celebrated. As far as Tatis Jr, Robinson Cano, Nelson Cruz.. yes, yes, yes. Every one of them. The rules are there, you have professional medical staff, you have staff doctors, you are an adult, the rules are what they are like them or not, you agree to play by those rules. You break them, tough. You should have and indeed DID know better. But again, that's just me.

My problem with fans coming down on guys from this era is PEDs seem to go as far back as the early days of baseball.

I guess it could be worse; we could have legends who have actually done a real and truly heinous act, like such as Mel Hall, Chad Curtis, or Felipe Vásquez

The year I fell in love with the game. Had a McGwire shirsey that I wore to class in 6th grade after every home run he hit in August/September. Sometimes didn't wash between wears tbh so probably smelled like B.O. and cheap cologne but man I loved that season.

It'd be sweet if The Show incorporated storylines for specific seasons like that -- something like shortened season/march to October w/ unis, stadiums, and the "feel" of '98 baseball.

not even a Yankees fan but playing a storyline mode for the 61 season would be freaking cool.

I am still speechless about Sammy Sosa from seeing this news yesterday morning. I said if Griffey and/or Sosa are ever on MLB: The Show, they will always be on my team no matter what who I play with. I kept my promise with Griffey, no w Sosa will be on the Dodgers too. I tweaked my lineup and it was difficult, but I did it. I was like a little schoolboy when I saw this on Reddit.

Sammy Sosa is one of my favorite players and I had his Sammy Sosa's High Heat Baseball when I was a teen. I lived in Champaign, Illinois when he was on the Cubs, and it was the best time to be a baseball fans in the 1990s, so many good memories from the 1998 season with the race.

March 28th cannot come fast enough!!!!!! I still think I am being pranked I never thought these two would be on this game, ever.
