30 Team Control? Share feedback :)

I’ve always played with my one team but, like most of you, get frustrated with sim behavior of the CPU.

Seeing a lot of you talk about 39 team control in franchise, can you share pros, cons, and how you work it?

Can I keep budgets on, manage lineups/rotations, but have the CPU do the trades?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts…

You can really do what you want

I control 40 man, lineup and rotations of the bigs and trades, nothing else

The beauty of 30 team control is you can do as much or as little as you want. There is no real downside unless you want to do a fantasy draft.

I let the cpu do its thing and only interfere when I see something detrimental to one of the teams I dont control. I dont micromanage the other teams. But some guys do and that's cool if you want to do that, its definitely an option.

And yes you can do all their lineups with budgets on and all that. Its all in the settings.

My only issue with 30-team control is during your game; the out-of-town scoreboards don't show other games unless you simulate the games before you start your game.

Yeah I had that concern until I understood how it works. Its pretty easy to click sim for the other games takes like 10 seconds so it's not too bad .

I have actually come to enjoy simming the other games before I play. It keeps me more in tune with the league and makes me more likely to notice no hitters.

Literally all of 10 seconds. I have a friend who continues to gripe about not seeing other scores on the stadium scoreboards. I’ve told him a million times to sim the other games before he plays his teams game and he just doesn’t do it….”takes too long”…….

I do 30 Team Control, but basically only control my team.
                • I make a second profile "CPU" and make those 29 teams all Auto.
                • At some point during September, I go through the Sign Draft Picks and sign any remaining unsigned draftees. At times the CPU will leave quality players unsigned.
                • Before the final day of the Regular Season, I cut all CPU teams down to 90 players. Teams can only carry a max of 98 players into the start of the Off-Season, so some signed draftees would otherwise be Free Agents.
                • In the Playoffs, I turn my CPU profile to Manual for Lineups/Rotations so that teams use a 4-man rotation.

Rarely do I intervene with what the CPU is doing, but these few measures make a long-haul Franchise much more enjoyable and keeps the CPU teams more competitive.

friends don't let friends uh, do whatever this is.
