Oh I am controlling the Padres, not the Angels 😅

I think if you offered Tatis for him that would get the deal done

Plan is to offer for Ohtani to "outbid" the other teams.

            Jackson Merrill

            Luis Campusano

            Dylan Lesko

            Ryan Weathers
Padres definitely have enough to get Ohtani, value wise, but who knows what his actual value is? He is a CY Young caliber pitcher and a MVP caliber hitter.

            Do we double his value?

61 is his base value as one person, but really he is two. Unicorn.

So maybe we don't double it, but we add an additional 30.

Ohtani value in this case would be 91.1

            Padres Receive:
            Ohtani DH/SP

            91.1

            Angels Receive:
            Merrill - 51.1 SS
            Lesko - 20.4 SP
            Salas - 13.6 OF
            Zavala - 13.6 C

            98.7

For farm rankings and for a rental, this is such a massive overpay...but it is Ohtani?

I would say this is the deal if you want Ohtani before free agency.

Dodgers and Ohtani. I see it.

              Miller 37.3 SP
              DeLuca 2.4 OF

              94.2

              Or

              Ohtani 91.1 DH/SP

Do you think I need to include Tatis or no? The goal is to resign him long term.

I think the question is if you resign him can you keep him in budget? Or do you turn budgets off?

If you play with budgets like I do maybe dealing a player with a high salary like Tatis would help balance?

I have to look in game what the budget is like, I am not sure.

From a 30 team control franchise POV...

Thinking about blowing up the Angels...

The trade value website has Trout's value at 46.8.

Curious if that does indeed seem accurate. I know he has a large contract and is 31 with some injury history, but that number still feels low for it being Mike Trout. In essence that's worth just 2 good prospects.

Also same goes with Shohei. His is at 61, but does this take into account his 2 way player status?

                        Any thoughts?

Corbin Burnes. Burnes is going to be traded eventually by my crew. I expect them to be in the race this year so it will prolly happen in my first offseason. So I'm looking to Burnes trade idea for prospects prolly to a big market team. Current value is 78.3 but obviously will go down with only 1 year of control for his future team. Thanks in advance

Love the trade advice on Ohtani. Love the idea of getting Miguel Vargas for the Dodgers. Does anyone see a world where LAA makes playoffs and he resigns?

The Angels aren't paying for their radio crew to broadcast games on the road. I doubt that same team is going to hand out an unprecedented contract.

So on the topic of Ohtani, what does everyone believe the chances are that he signs with the Mariners during FA after the season?? I am a lifelong M's fan so of course I am dreaming big but I was watching a video of him and Ichiro the other day, they are very close, and Seattle is trending up with a lot of young talent (J-Rod, Gilbert, Kirby+ a few others). I am just curious people's thoughts if Seattle were to offer him a comparable contract to probably what we are going to see from the Mets/Dodgers who are rumored to be heavily interested.
