I whence when the new version comes out

With the digital download waiting on my PS5 for tonight's unveiling I am at the spot I am every year...

I'm very excited for the new version and all it can be, but I know it'll be a lot of work. Right now I have 22 running like a Ferrari. The sliders and Dynamic Difficulty give me a beautiful and believable game every time I play. The rosters made by DLinsey using Fangraphs are accurate to this day and make it feel like spring training 23. Everything is 10 out of 10 until tonight.

Finding that same feel will take the next days maybe weeks, the rosters will be subpar out of the box and the sliders will be frustrating to find the mix that fits what I want in game play.

As we say goodbye to 22 I am thankful what a great game it was...

yep, I gotta get plenty of exhibition Play Now games (at least 1 at every stadium) before I can start my O's season play through, get everything as close as possible to dialed in

I truly envy you, I can only wish to harbor a fraction of your level of excitement for this game. Now I like MLB The Show, overall its generally a pretty solid game. It's just I kinda know what to expect at this point; pretty much a carbon copy of MLB 22 with some subtle improvements. But it's going to take more than better sound effects from the bat connecting with the ball to jumpstart my excitement. I just feel we've pretty much reached the limits of what this game can do running on the current engine, feel it's long overdue for a huge revamp or rebuild from the ground up. Need better animations, better motion capture, better physics, more detailed players...........a new commentary duo, and the lost goes on. I promise I'm still looking forward to playing MLB 23, I know I will still enjoy it, I just feel like we should be seeing larger strides in between games. And I know this is pretty much the same with all sports games year in and year out. Killing off competition with exclusivity licensing I feel has really done damage to sports titles. Miss the days when we would see 3 or 4 MLB games in a year, or NFL, and so on.

I agree that the rosters out the box are usually poop. But that is likely because the game is done weeks before release

But I am super excited for this seasons game
