Played a full game phillies (me) vs rangers (cpu) game one of franchise. I love this game sony always knocks it out the park i like how the menu is interactive sort of when you highlight something it plays in the background. Love the presentation it is giving me espn Sunday night and i been yearning for espn broadcast for ever. The only negative i have is the bat sounds i like it the sound better in the tech test. This sound i have to get used too. People complain about the announcing look i come from wwe 2k announcing this is a breath of fresh air. I love the scoring bug in franchise telling you the different stats and projections. I am a stats guy and a presentation guy so i am happy to see something new. Gameplay for me has always been polish if it’s not broke dont fix it. Let’s play ball.Comment

Graphics wise the game is PS4
Franchise/stadium creator untouched except for the draft screen that’s new and a few new scoreboards
Some stadiums have new updates…they look nice
Bats sounds are awful IMO
Some of the WBC players are gonna be available for us franchise guys to use outside of DD
Gameplay is smooth…new fielding meter is a fun addition with some challenge which is cool
Negro league parks are well done…a few new minor league parks as well
Legends have no quirks as of now outside of DD…hopefully that’ll be fixed in a patch
Some new equipment but I’m sure more will be added hopefully on the 28thComment

Quick first impressions.
The roster is horrible. Like, extra horrible this year. It feels like they literally just copy & pasted 22 into 23. I think I’ve seen maybe 2 new face scans? I went through every single teams roster and it’s just created player after created player. It’s pretty pathetic.
Playing my first game now, as someone who loves letting my catcher call the game, the pitch location suggestion marker is so freakin light that you can barely see it, and some locations you can’t see it at all. It’s incredibly infuriating. Maybe I’m completely missing an option to make it not so see through but it’s really really hindering my enjoyment of pitching the way I like too.
Hitting feels…off. Timing wise. Can’t put my finger on it yet.
New presentation elements are cool.
Really praying to god the first roster update has a literal F ton of face scan updates cause this roster is dog ****.Proud Member of the Right Field Bleacher Crew, Oakland California!

Enjoying the game so far. Couple of little things.
It will have to get used to the new options menu. Hard to find stuff. Why did they feel they needed to change that?
The pitch suggestion should be back in the pitcher screen and not have to have fielder aids on for something for pitching. Again, something that didn’t need to be fixed.
Like the cool new stories about the players like Springer with his SAY Foundation. But I’m sure you’ll start to hear that almost every other game if you use them.Follow me on Twitch

Unfortunately only way I can tell is to turn on auto throwing for fielding. I don't mind auto throw personally but prefer it off. However in order to avoid the blue rings it auto throw has to be ON. Unless someone else knows another way?

You guys crack me up lol anyways the gameplay is stellar as always, the glove and bat sounds are a welcomed improvement, graphics are solid but definitely not a big jump from last year or anything, wish there were more face scans but oh well……. One thing I appreciate coming from playing 2K is the FPS is rock solid, 2K was all over the place this year and made it hard for me to enjoyComment

After playing a couple games, The Show is still The Show. Good on the field gameplay. Very similar to 22 with some minor tweaks. The presentation is slightly better, but the graphics and player models are looking so dated. It’s time for a major upgrade in this area.
The Negro League inclusion is great, reminds me very much of the Jordan Challenge mode from 2K. Being able to get these players as Diamond cards in DD makes it that much sweeter. Love that these players finally get the recognition they deserve in this game.
Probably won’t touch RTTS at all this year, and I’ll start a franchise after a few patches and some good rosters are out.
The meat and potatoes of this game is Diamond dynasty for me, and thankfully, it looks to be incredibly deep and fun this year. Being able to use Derek Jeter and Big Mac this year has me salivating.
All in all, if not for the updates to DD I could have stuck with the Show 22 and not have missed out on much at all.Last edited by Gosens6; 03-24-2023, 09:22 AM.Comment
