Keep auto save on. Advance to the next day and then check the transaction screen. If something is amiss, exit out of franchise mode completely. Go back in and you will be back to the previous day (but after having played the game...and BEFORE the transactions/trades occurred). This is what I do as a matter of routine.

Hey, even if just one of those things help, that's a W! We all have different needs/wants so I know you can't just blanket it for everyone. I just like casting a wide net to get folks' wheels turning!

Thanks for following along! Trying to keep updating consistently but sometimes life gets in the way lol.

In all honesty, in past games (whatever the sport) I never could stick to a team. This is the first time I've actually stuck it out and gotten this far in a franchise before, I think it's all about finding the team you click with and then grinding through the good and bad moments.

Joe Random showing up in second season of franchise on a lot of minor league teams. Is this a glitch? 1 Overall and one of them is in AAA batting .222 lol.

              Colorado Rockies Season 2023

Alright so taking into consideration some of the ideas from Josh and Drag I am going to see if I can keep one. going

Went with Hall of Fame Level, no slider adjustments minus the SP Stam and Injuries, only controlling my team no 30-team control. Rosters the latest one put out by MLB the Show

Spent most of the last 24 hours playing most of the spring games to get a feel for the team. Here is who we took west with us

              SP- G Marquez, K Freeland, C Flexen, A Senzatela, C Dollander (#3 Prospect)

              RP- D Bard, T Kinley, B Suter, J Bird, M Koch, R Pint, T Blach

              CL- J Lawerence

              C- E Diaz, A Wynns

              1B- M Toglia

              SS- E Tovar

              IF- R Mcmahon, B Rodgers, A Trejo, W Bernabel (#8 Prospect)

              OF- S Bouchard, N Jones, B Doyle, K Bryant, C Blackmon

              Top 10 Prospects
              1)A Amador SS- AA
              2)Y Fernandez OF- AA
              3)C Dollander SP- MLB
              4)J Beck OF- AA
              5)Z Veen OF- AA
              6)B Montgomery OF- AA
              7)D Romo C- AA
              8)W Bernabel 3B- MLB
              9)H Goodman 1B- AA
              10)J Rock SP- AA

              Outlook

Team with a few vets that might not be around long other than that pretty young. Need some SP in the future. Have a nice 54 million to be projected to spend in the Offseason after this season and with a lot of SP names going to be on the market, we look forward to that. We are not the type of team that can spend on Ohtani but we can shop around for the rest next season. I plan to take a Braves approach and if I like someone try and lock them up on the cheap

                Colorado Rockies Season 2023

Opening series of the season going to San Diego for 4 games

Game 1- German Marquez vs Blake Snell
This game was scoreless through 4 as both pitchers had no hitters going. The 5th is when the Rockies started to strike. A leadoff HR in the 5th from Tovar gave them a 1-0 lead. Snell walked the next two then gave up an RBI Double to Bernabel on his first MLB hit of his career and a RBI single to Charlie Blackmon and it was 3-0 Rockies. He would walk two more and not get out of the 5th inning. Things would quiet down a bit until the 7th when Colorado catcher Diaz would hit a solo HR to get it to 4-0. The Padres would threaten though in the bottom of the 7th though. With 2 on and 2 out Luis Campuaso would double down the line cutting the lead to 4-2. Then a walk put the go ahead run at the plate in Juan Soto and Brent Suter was able to come in and strike him out to protect the lead. Daniel Bard would hold it down in the 8th and Justin Lawerence would close out the 9th and the Rockes would hold on for the 4-2 Win.

German Marquez would get the win going 6 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits and striking out. 12

Game 2- Kyle Freeland vs Joe Musgrove
The first pitch Freeland threw of the game was taken deep by H Kim for a quick Padres 1-0 lead. The second was not much better as after loading the bases with 2 ours Matt Carpenter would hit a grand slam and it was 5-0. Freeland would settle down but that would be all they need as Joe Musgrove was amazing and had me off balance the entire game with his slider. He would pitch 7 two hit innings striking out 13 and the Padres would even the Series with a 5-0 Win

Kyle Freeland took the loss giving up 8 hits over 6 innings, 5 runs and struck out 4.

Game 3- Chris Flexen vs Seth Lugo
The Padres would jump out quick again with an RBI double in the first by Tatis Jr and then a solo HR by Kim his second of the year already and its 2-0. Flexen would settle down to not allow anything more for 7 innings the problem was Seth Lugo was unhittable. he through 6 no hit innings before I got a hit in the 7th. Nolan Jones would triple and come home to score on the Bryant RBI single to make it 2-1. But that would be as close as we got as Josh Hader would come in and shut the door and the Padres won the game 2-1

Flexen pitched well after the 2nd inning giving us a strong 7 but the offense did not come to play today

Game 4- Antonio Senzatela vs Yu Darvish
Once again, the Padres looked to get off early with a solo HR by Machado in the first for a 1-0 lead. The Rockies would tie it in the 4th on a sac fly by Nolan Jones to tie it at 1-1. However, Juan Soto would hit a 2- run homer in the 6th on a ball I swear never landed for a 3-1 lead. Then a Campuaso HR in the 7th made it 4-1 and for the 3rd straight game the Rockies bats went cold, and Hader came in for another save and the Padres finished the series taking 3 of 4 with a 4-1 win.

Senzatela did already until the 6th when I left him in too long and he ran out of steam.

The Rockies 1-3 are currently in last place and now travel for a short 2 game set against the 3-1 first place Dodgers.

It was good, Bernthel had a great spring and won the 3B job which was cool to see.

Also was fun to see my top pitching prospect Dollander hold on and win the 5th starter job

We did get deep in talks with the Royals about a semi minor trade that we are unable to close on but I am working on it still hoping to find players that get accepted

                      Colorado Rockies Season 2023

The 1-3 Rockies headed into LA for a quick 2 game set with the 3-1 Dodgers.

Game 5- Chase Dollander vs Kyle Hurt
A battle of two rookies making their MLB debut. Dollander the Rockies (#1 overall prospect and #21 in MLB) showed the future ace potential in this one as he was overpowering. He made one bad pitch in the 2nd inning giving up a solo HR to Jason Heyward but other than that he through 6 amazing innings allowing only the 1 run, 1 walk on 5 hits and strike out 12. The offense for the Rockies had not been great but they did enough in this one. They tied the game 1-1 in the 4th on a solo HR by Nolan Jones, scored again in the 5th on a sac fly by Brandon Rodgers, then 2 in the 6th on a Sac Fly by Kris Bryant and an RBI Triple by Brenton Doyle to take a 4-1 lead. The Dodgers would get two on in the 9th and Mookie Betts to the plate, but close Justin Lawerence was able to strike him out and earn his second save of the season in the 4-1 Rockies win.

                      Game 6- German Marquez (1-0 1.50) vs Clayton Kershaw (0-0 2.57)
For two innings it looked like Marquez was going to dominate for his second straight start as he struck out 5 of the first 6 batters he faced. But then the Dodgers started chipping away. They got an RBI single from Rojas in the 3rd, an RBI Double from Will Smith in the 4th and a Sac Fly from Outman, Another RBI Single from Rojas in the 7th and at the end of 7 they were up 4-0 and Marquez day was done. Colorado would avoid the shutout on an RBI Double from Nolan Jones in the 9th but that would be it for the Rockies. Kershaw was amazing going 7 innings allowing only 2 hits. Final score Dodgers Win 4-1

                      Team Outlook
Right now, the Rockies offense is flat, and a big concern is Ryan McMahon is 1-19 on the season and Brendan Rodgers is 0-17 with 1 RBI. Two guys who need to play a role if we are going to have any outside shot at a wild card spot.

Next up the Rockies (2-4) get ready for their home opener against the (2-4) Washington Nationals.

                        2024 Pittsburgh Pirates 06/07-06/09

Overall Record:45-21 (1st NL Central/6.0 over Milwaukee Brewers)

                        Game Results

                        Game 1
                        Pirates-5
                        Cubs-4

                        Game 2
                        Pirates-3
                        Cubs-0

                        Game 3
                        Pirates-3
                        Cubs-2

Pirates eek by with series sweep

Yes, the Pirates swept the 4th place Cubs but it wasnt easy. The Cubs got out to a 4-0 lead in game one but the Pirates were able to score five unanswered to include a walk off hit by Oneil Cruz in the bottom of the 9th to take the win.

Game two saw both teams struggle to score but a pair of homeruns in the 5th inng by CJ Cron (15) and Mccutchen (6) gave the Pirates what they needed as Mitch Keller was dominate (8 innings 2 hits 9 SO). Mccutchen added another RBI in the 8th to give the Pirates the 3-0 victory.

Game three went into extra innings as the Pirates offense struggled throughout. The only player to collect multiple hits, Endy Rodriguez provided the Pirates with their second walk off of the series with a 10th inning single that knocked in the Pirates ghost runner, Andrew Mccutchen.

The Pirates will face a tougher test as they end their homestand with three Vs. San Diegeo (38-28/2nd NL West).

Re: MLB The Show 23 Franchise Mode Discussion

Been a while since I updated.

Just finished May of the 2028 season and we are currently 31-26, 2nd place in the Central, 3 games back of the Brewers.

Injuries have played a part in our struggles but also our pitching has been very inconsistent. Reid Detmers is having a bad year, Noah Syndergaard is turning out to be a bad signing, and Jack Flaherty hasn't been the dominant ace that he's been in year's past. Matthew Liberatore (currently injured) and Dakota Hudson have arguably been the two best starters thus far in the season. We won't get Liberatore back until the first part of July I believe.

Offensively we've been ok. Dylan Carlson and Nolan Gorman are having bad years thus far, each hitting under .200. Ivan Herrera was actually optioned to Memphis is mid-May due to his lackluster performance at the dish. Nolan Arenado has been below Nolan Arenado averages, and Steven Kwan hasn't performed as we had hoped when we signed him this past winter.

On the flip side, Cristian Vasquez has found a fountain of youth as he has taken over the everyday catcher duties. He's hitting .284 and has come up with big hits on multiple occasions. Tommy Edman is on pace to be an All-Star hitting over .300 this year and has 20 stolen bases. He's also phenomenal in the field. Luis Arraez continues to just be a quiet, consistent bat hitting over .320 and Alec Burleson could be selected to his first all-star game as he's been solid at DH leading the team in homeruns, RBI's and doubles. He's third on the team in hits behind Arraez and Edman.

We should be getting some of our injured players back in the next 2 weeks. Jordan Walker, Giovanny Gallegos and Harrison Bader should all return around mid-June or before. Hopefully that will put some fire into this team, as we search the market for help, especially pitching.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

                            2024 Washington Nationals

Game One: Josiah Gray (1-4, 5.06) vs Mike Soroka (10-3, 3.70)
Mike Soroka comes into this game with a history of dominating the Nationals, but he would only face one batter before leaving with forearm tightness. Trevor Williams was called upon in what quickly became a bullpen game.

Josiah Gray pitched great (5IP, 4H, 1R, 1BB, 6K) and Mitch Haniger and Anthony Rizzo each homered again, but Matt Olson had two bombs of his own to carry Atlanta to a 3-2 victory. This was Haniger’s 40th home run of the season, breaking Barry Bonds’ tainted record for most home runs before an All Star break.

                            MacKenzie Gore (7-5, 4.87) vs Max Fried (9-1, 2.81)
MacKenzie Gore pitched well for five innings, giving up just one run on a William Contreras home run, but he got knocked around for three more runs in the sixth. Max Fried gave up just one hit in just first seven innings of work before Mitch Haniger took him deep in the eighth. Fried would finish with 8 full innings of work, giving up the one run in four hits, walking none and striking out four. Zach Davies would allow three runs in two innings of work as Atlanta makes easy work of Washington in game two.

Game Three: Lucas Giolito (5-6, 5.00) vs Kyle Wright (10-3, 1.97)
Anthony Rizzo got Washington off to an early lead with a solo home run in the second, but the Braves tied the game in the third when Ronald Acuna Jr homered. Robert Harris drove in a run in the fourth and William Contreras gave the Braves some insurance with a solo home run in the eighth. Atlanta’s stellar bullpen was dominate until two down in the ninth, when Dave Martinez brought in Kike Hernandez to pinch hit against AJ Minter. Hernandez would hit a game tying home run on a 1-2 count, giving Washington new life. They took full advantage of it in the tenth, scoring three runs (one on an RBI hit from Andrew Vaughn and the other two in yet another home run from Mitch Haniger, number 42 and his fourth in four consecutive games). Trevor Rosenthal gave up a run when Austin Riley doubled in the bottom of the tenth, and then intentionally walked Matt Olson before bearing down and clinching the save. A big win for the Nationals, who finally showed some life on offense.

Lucas Giolito pitched well, grinding out six innings without allowing a walk and striking out six. He did allow nine hits but only allowed two runs to score.

Game Four: Stephen Strasburg (7-7, 1.99) vs Aaron Nola 3-11, 3.82)
Stephen Strasburg gave up a run with two outs in the first when Austin Riley doubled to score Ronald Acuna Jr., but he would follow that go five shutout innings, paving the way for the Nationals bullpen, who went three scoreless frames. The Nats’ offense was led by Luis Garcia, who drove in two of their three runs with a single in the third and solo home run in the sixth. Anthony Rizzo drove in the other run on a fielder’s choice in the fourth as Washington took a 3-1 victory and split the four game set with Atlanta.

The Nationals (43-48) definitely found something in their last two games against Atlanta. If they can carry that going forward they will be in good shape, as their next two series are at home against teams they can play well against in Cincinnati (40-50) and Miami (48-43) before heading into the All-Star break.

I think I'm going to start a new franchise. I struggled to get into my A's Franchise in Year 2. And watching the postseason, I really want to play with the Braves. My plan this year was to do an A's Franchise and just use a Braves theme team in DD to scratch that itch, but I just don't enjoy playing DD most of the time.

I think part of it as well is there just isn't enough added to the Ballpark creator. I made a new A's stadium that I think looks really good. But the very plain backstop, rounded foul territory, nothing on the OF walls, and OFers playing way too shallow by default in created Stadiums (I manually set myself and the CPU to play deep, which is better, but still a little too deep) I think is part of it. By I also don't want to go back to the Coliseum (which, let's be real, is an ugly park).

Feels weird to be starting a new franchise this late in the cycle.

Pirates avoid sweep to end homestand

The Pirates have been struggling against starting pitching as of late and have on many occasions atleast gotten through the first round of their lineup without getting a hit. The same stayed true in ther three game set with San Diego to wrap up their homestand.

The Pirates failed to score before the 6th inning in any of the three games and in two, they didnt score until the 7th. The second of such games was their game three victory which the offense again got off to a slow start. Luckily, three solo homeruns in the bottom of the 7th gave the Pirates the lead, 3-2. The homeruns came off of Termarr Johnson (1st MLB HR), Andrew Mccutchen (#8 on the year and back to back with Johnson) and later in the inning off of Oneil Cruz's bat, his 11th of the season.

Mccutchen added a second later in the game to help propel the Pirates to the 5-3 victory.

The Pirates are still going strong on the season and look to continue that as they head on the road. First for a matchup with the Marlins in Miami (31-38/4th NL East)
