I have the PS5 version, and the PS4 version. My son mostly plays the PS4 version on his room. One day he came out of his room and asked me for help (he is 10). He has watched me play the PS5 version, and says his game “looks” different and it’s to hard to play. I went to help him and immediately noticed the difference. The PS4 version is virtually unplayable and definitely has severe lag and frame rate drops. It’s near impossible to hit and pitch on this version. Not to mention the PS4 kicks into jet plane mode and is so loud when playing the PS4 version you would think my sons bedroom is LAX.

I don’t like to throw the “unplayable” word around, but it’s definitely not even worth picking up on my opinion. Thankfully the PS5 version is smooth as butter. I would be pissed if all I had was a PS4 though as the game is a mess

You nailed it. The sole reason I bought a PS5 was for this game and it's worth every penny.

I played the PS4 version on PS5 for the sake of Sounds of the Show, and I'm getting framerate issues. Immediately went back to the PS5 version.

I just finished up the 3 hour trial you get with PS+ Premium and the only lag I experienced was in cutscenes. This on an OG PS4.

I'm still playing on the PS4 version and enjoy it just fine. Took a few days to get used to 23 since I was playing 20 forever.

Can confirm PS4 version has an issue with frame rate drops. I play Exhibition mode and there are big frame rate drops during the batter intros. I think I noticed some slight hitches during gameplay as well.

I just got '23 and have played about a dozen games and have not had any issues at all. I am on a PS4 pro with a new SSD. I am not super sensitive to frame rate at all just for disclosure.

Play the PS5 version and you'll notice a difference immediately

Nobody is denying the PS5 is more consistent than PS4 though. That's a given.

The focus should be on finding a common denominator with people who are having the really extreme drops during gameplay and providing that info and video in bug reports to see to what extent SDS can clean some of it up.

Has the issue been resolved on Xbox One? I’m currently playing 23 on gamepass cloud but the internet is always sketchy and the graphics are poor. Would love to go back to my download version.

When the Astros celebrate a homerun in the dugout you definitely see a huge lag on the PS4. That club is built to hit homeruns in real life and on The Show so PS4 players beware. But I enjoy the game so I overlook it.

Xbox One S still has the lag issue. Mostly during cutscenes and field play. Might have to give in and buy an Series S.

Yeah I gave in myself as it seems the PS4 is becoming obsolete. It's worth it if you can afford it. Smooth as butter.
