Anyone who has it early: has stealing been changed at all this year?

I hate the stealing system with a passion in 22 and most previous versions. Playing a franchise, If I time the pitcher by releasing L2 just before he pitches, the player should start running. If I leave it up to the ratings and he gets a bad jump, fine. But if I go through the added pressure and risk of trying to time my steal, I should be gifted with the benefit of the runner starting his break when I tell him to.

Yes, I know the “best” way to steal bases, but I ****ing hate it.

I hope they changed the system up with the larger bases this year. Not just bumped up the steal rates a couple percentage points like I’m expecting. Anyone who has the game: does it work any better this year?

The system functions the same as in years past however I have had far more success so far this year with the basic tap L2 while holding stick in the runner’s direction. Fast runners get a much more realistic jump instead of being thrown out by a step. On a negative note, because of the new shift rules, you may find yourself in the position of having a runner on 2B and there being no defenders close enough to receive a pick off attempt. So naturally you increase your secondary lead. The cpu pitcher will continually step off if you increase your secondary lead by two steps.

Which is infuriating since they won’t actually be able to do that in majors.

I have experimented the same, more successful when just tapping L2 , even against good catchers. Like that.
