    Traded players being DFA’d immediately?

I’ll post this in bugs I guess too.

I traded plesac to Seattle, they gave me two prospects for him. The very next day they DFA’d him. He would have slotted in as their 5th starter. Anybody else seeing this happen?

I tried another trade with Jorge Mateo. Traded him to dodgers. I had Lux injured manually, so Mateo would have been the starting SS, they DFA’d him as well the next day.

This would be a game breaker if it’s like this for everyone… hope it’s not true! Has anyone else tested this?

I think it has to do with the 40 man logic. If their 40 man is set then they won't DFA a more logical player. I got around this in '22 by making my trade (ex: Plesac to Seattle for two prospects + worst 40 man option) including that teams worse 40 man player and then releasing the extra 40 man. The CPU will then add Plesac to their rotation but you kind of need to make the move for that team to help.

Yes. Unless, you're doing 30-team control, this is the way. If their 40-Man is maxed out, then you gotta match that and take a 40-Man of theirs. The same would apply to any player, if the CPU team is maxed out at 93 players.

Makes sense, I do 30 team control so I’ve never seen it happen, including this year.

Re: Traded players being DFA’d immediately?

Really hope there’s a patch tomorrow, some of these bugs they’ve let slip through are just embarrassing, especially after taking away the middle tier and just straight up charging $100 for an early access version. No game is going to release perfectly, small or hard to recreate issues are understandable, but letting multiple obvious bugs return from the grave, and now a franchise ruining one for solo franchise players?

I know it’s not an SDS specific thing, too much of the gaming industry operates with a ‘Test our game? No, we’ll let our player base pay us extra to test. Let’s shove it out the door and fix it up later’ type of mindset. The key issues mentioned on here easily could’ve been caught.

Would be cool to at least get some sort of statement that they’ve been aware of these issues and a patch is already on the way, if that’s the case. It really is a great game this year too, otherwise, so it’s extra disappointing to have to shelve it.

It seems like these early release versions are solely "ready for online play". I remember a couple years ago the rosters were like 2 months behind until a day or two after the general release date.

Dang I never noticed. That’s awful.

The CPU will DFA a player not involved in trade if 40 man is set/full

Here’s trade Orioles did with Mariners

Brandon Young wasn’t on 40 man so the acquisition of Castillo put the O’s at 41 players on 40 man roster.

                  They DFA’d Yennier Cano

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

How long did it take to make a trade - I traded a few players and nothing happens. Both sides are happy (I forced them to be happy) but . . nothing actually gets traded
