Give us customization and allow roster carry over please.
It is really disappointing to me that rosters cannot be carried over version to version. All the great work done by creators on historical rosters and they can't be used on MLB 23.
I'm late to the historical party. I'm amazed by the quality of some of these historical rosters (great job to those creators!!!).
NBA 2K23 hooked me with their fantastic ERAs mode. This was the best thing in recent gaming history for me and I love it. Now I badly want this in all my sports games--especially MLB The Show. With all the great history of MLB there would so many options. Yes it would be a lot of work but if roster editors can do it so can MLB The Show (and yes I know there would be licensing issues but even if they just just picked 2 or 3 Eras to start....the community could do a lot if filler work for generics they don't have license for just like NBA2K).
Heck, even if they simply gave us custom options like Super Mega Baseball or NBA 2K or NHL where you could create leagues so we could properly align the correct teams in a 1985 season replay for example. If Super Mega Baseball 3, NBA or NHL can do custom league, I dont know why MLB The Show can't. Maybe not everyone wants to play a full 162 in franchise. Maybe we want to get rid of some teams. Maybe we want all our games to be 7 innings long. Why not allow this stuff?
The Show is such a great game but it is so limited. It is kind of a disappointing for me to see what can be done in other games when it isnt available in perhaps my favorite sports game. I'm sure I'll play and enjoy it like usual but just want more out of it. I think of they even just gave us custom options this would open up the game so much. Ideally they expand the face scan tool or give us an ERA mode at some point.
