If Volpe has any ability to move and get to a ball defensively, then he may be better than the most overrated player of all time defensively at least. Jeter was a good hitter, though. Not sure Volpe will ever hit as well as Jeter, but surpassing his fielding ability should be easy.

Dang what’s A Rod? Chopped liver? Honestly I’d rate him higher than Jeter.

I don’t think one could simulate what Jeter brought to the table. I’ve been around baseball for over 40 years, I’ve never seen a player do the small stuff they way Jeter did. Anticipation off the charts. But hey, it’s a video game so give it go.

Yeah Jeter….you don’t get 3000 hits by accident….and while defensively he was good and then as he aged became average to below average…the intangibles and leadership and bat he brought…..unmatched by a Yankees SS.

He was simply dynamite in a lot of small ways. His baseball IQ was off the charts.

Career .299 hitter….post season he was always HUGE.

            Yeah….Yankees Legend.

yeah, He could have been the best there ever was.
but he got greedy and wanted more than the gift he was blessed with. not that he was alone in that.

Cover of a video game? Compare him after he achieves over 3000 hits and is a career.299 hitter…..becomes a Yankees Captain….and has his number retired and a bust made in the HOF….then we can compare my friend.

Right now it’s not even a discussion and won’t be for years to come.

Volpe looks like he can be a great player…..I just hope he can be better than what we have had since Jeter left….Didi was a good SS for us since Jeter…..and that’s about it.

He has a very…..very long way to go.

Volpe has played in 1 MLB game, went 0 for 2 with a strikeout and a walk. Let’s see where he is at 10 years from now before he is compared to Jeter.

to paraphrase a once great Yankee mgr.
"he's 21 years old right now.
in 10 years he has a chance to be 31"
                    lol

lol in that instance, I was trying to compare the Show Jeter to a future Show Volpe.
I should have been more clear.
but even if Volpe was on the cover of the Show, a video game Volpe would be country mile behind Jeter and him being the face of an entire video game series back in the 2000's with All-Star Baseball
