Created Player Flaming Out at Age 28

I'm a huge stat nerd. I like to create fictional players with extreme slider settings to see how the game responds and to see if any of them can break any records. The last MLB game I had before 23 was 14 and this hasn't changed.

If I create an 18 year old player with a 99 rating, buy age 28-30 they've regressed down to below 80 and then are out of baseball altogether. Why does this happen? What can I do to make sure a created player plays for at least 18 seasons to see if records can be broken? This is driving me nuts.

Sadly, MLB the Show uses 10 years of service time as the signal for regression. That is why I'd never suggest promoting a prospect at 19-20 years old and 72-75 overall, might as well wait until they're 21-22 at least and continue to dev to 80 before sending them to the show.

That really sucks. Any way around it? Maybe durability at 99? Or maybe I don't make them so great out of the gate....

if you dont have too many to keep track, create you a file (or notebook) and reedit their attribute ratings to what you prefer.
these guys arent retiring with 80+ OverAlls are they?
if so, now thats a huge problem IMO

No, two of the guys were somewhere in the low-mid 70s by age 30 and retired then. I am noticing that if an 18-year-old starts at 99, they regress starting around 28/29. If they start at 75, they don't start regressing until age 35/36, even with over 10 years of MLB service.

yeah, thats still a problem I agree.
players shouldnt retire until they regress lower than mid60s IMO

It's really annoying.

The best program I ever found to do what I like to do is OOTP, but the older versions (like 2004). All the newer ones aren't that good at customization of fictional players. Since 2004 didn't have the MLBPA license, it was all fictional and totally mailable.
