Re: Quick Counts
Well. Right at the moment the QC is all messed up. The totals are about 100 pitches when after 5 innings, so that has GOT to be fixed. No, once you choose QC both teams are stuck with it. I agree about batting without it. I moved off QC for the first time since its inception and I’m actually enjoying it much more.Comment

Re: Quick Counts
Again though, I'm playing with CPU and human stamina sliders MAXED/at 10 ... and I'm not seeing good results.
Even when the CPU should keep their pitcher in and likely would in real life, they seemingly always start warming the bullpen up in the 5th and then put the reliever in in the 6th.
Game I'm playing now, their SP was at 85 pitches at the end of the 5th innings, had only allowed 2 hits, and one walk ... And got taken out.
I've moved CPU Hook slider up to 6, but maybe I should try playing with that maxed or higher too.
I just don't want it to also lead to them leaving CPU relievers in too long, as that often seems to be the case anyway.
So with CPU stamina at 7, you're commonly seeing pitchers who are throwing well making it into the 6th, 7th and 8th innings?Comment

Re: Quick Counts
I've got decent results on default. I find it a challenge to stretch my pitcher as far as I can without injury and to get CPU out on as few pitches as possible. Ups my concentration on each pitch. Yeah the pitch counts are 130 sometimes and If they patch it great but I'm getting by how it is.

Re: Quick Counts
But I also go back and forth between simming and playing a lot, and I don't want that slider adjusted for simmed games (too many complete games), so... it's a big pain in the *** to switch back and forth all the time. I wish there was a setting for "simulation sliders" and "playing sliders" instead of having to toggle them back and forth.Comment

The stamina settings have worked really well. Again with it counting all pitches this year, take the number ABs faced and subtract from total pitch count. That's the actual pitch count using QC from years past. You want a guy to go like 10-15 or so pitches over their stamina rating before bar turns yellow as a rule of thumb.
Believe it or not, without QC the stamina needs to be 8 for the cpu cause now it's more pitches thrown. Been tested and at 8 the cpu can go that 10-15 pitches over stamina attribute before bar turns yellow. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But I am strictly QC again this year once we figured out how to combat it.
You really just can't be looking at the pitch count this year without subtracting the number ABs faced to take away the extra pitch QC used to do before.
I did enjoy it off but still really wished it was on at least for hitting. And I can't be taking a hour and a half to finish one game with two kiddos running around and oh yeah...a wife [emoji51]

Re: Quick Counts
Interesting, I'd like that to be the case for me if they are throwing a gem, but I'm finding they are still getting yanked around the 5th/6th once they approach 100 pitches most often... The only way I've been able to improve that is to play with the CPU manager hook slider...
But I also go back and forth between simming and playing a lot, and I don't want that slider adjusted for simmed games (too many complete games), so... it's a big pain in the *** to switch back and forth all the time. Ps this is on default sliders w/dynamic difficulty.

Re: Quick Counts
100%, I've got no huge issue with being able to get my starter deep into games (as long as they've got a decent stamina rating) ... I did 7.2 IP outing with 0 ER earlier today and likely could have pushed it further but called it there.
My biggest issue thus far is getting the CPU to keep their guys in past the 5th/6th more often, especially when they are dominating and wouldn't be taken out in real life.
I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and constantly adjust the CPU hook slider whether I'm simming or playing, as that's clearly the easiest way to manipulate it.
I do like the idea of adjusting it to max quick hook after, as that's another huge CPU issue.. them keeping relievers in too long, especially when they are getting pounded.
I think the CPU bullpen management is generally a bit better when they are winning ... if the game is tied or they are losing (but it's still close), they generally just go much more to their worst rated relievers than you'd see in real life, and ride them far too long.Comment

Re: Quick Counts
I just pitched a CG shutout with Cal Quantrill who has I believe it was 84 stamina. Allowed only 3 hits on 130 pitches. This is stamina slider at 6 for user.
Faced 28 batters, so I'm looking at it as 102 pitches which is more realistic for only allowing 3 hits and one walk. 84 stamina so looking to not go yellow bar until around 95-100 pitches. It was at pitches 107 I first saw yellow which is fine for the performance he was putting together. Default stamina will work but you're relying a bit on more 1-1 generated counts to see realistic 5 or 6ip outings consistently IMO.

Re: Quick Counts
I've been using 7 for both CPU and Human starters with QC's and haven't really had much issue other than the pitch counts look inflated on the scorebug.Comment

Re: Quick Counts
I wish you could toggle quick counts to have it only be for when pitching (or batting if you prefer). I love it when pitching because without it I rarely walk batters in franchise mode and lead the league in fewest walks by a ridiculous number. But when batting, I feel like at bats are better starting at 0-0 for rhythm/timing.. it's obviously nice when you get a 3-0 3-1 count lol, but it also seems to mess up the pitch counter a lot. Is it possible to toggle this in-between innings (doubt it) or does anyone agree?Comment
