I use quick counts, so the pitch count is realistic for me still. I'm at 100 by 6th inning at the latest. Contact raised does help them check swing better but really nothing that noticeable. I had contact 8 and timing 10 and it doesn't make a difference. Just tried default cpu hitting and held Cincy to 3 hits and 12k in Colorado, so that's just no fun for me. I have to increase contact to get a cpu offense that is threatening. The swing and misses for real is simply what SDS wanted this year. I get it. Real life strikeouts are out of control with everyone swinging for the fences.
But at least last year, I had to work for a strikeout with the "extra long bats" someone mentioned above. I actually had to try for a strikeout, and it was rewarding. I can only remember striking out the side last year a handful of times. This year, it's usually once per game I do this without trying to.
