    DRASTIC ATTRIBUTE DROP DURING GAMEPLAY

So we have seen this before right? Here and there you’ll see a few points down on some ratings for some players, on defense and offense. But this year I’m seeing a DRASTIC attribute drop on the defensive side.. for instance, my catcher Jorge Alfaro is listed with an 97 Arm Strength, but in game he has 79 Arm Strength attribute, that’s 18 points down… the same is for mostly all of my players.

Can someone explain why is this happening this year?

Side note: non of my coaches has negative attribute influence, and I have seen some increase on some other attributes, but not as DRASTIC as the drops.

    Thanks in advance.

Throwing Sliders affect arm strength ratings displayed on field.

Reaction Sliders affect the fielding ratings.

Wow....this is something I never knew about! And it appears that this can actually cause ratings to go over 100 even in offline play!

        Cubs defense, maxed reaction:

If it's only a couple of ratings like this it's not some earth-shattering thing, but it's a rare opportunity to see what the sliders actually do numerically in this game. It's been possible to see the real-time effects of some of the hitting and pitching sliders on the PCI and PAR respectively, but it was always an estimation based on the graphic size - not in numbers.

        Thanks for posting this!

Ohh, now everything makes sense, I’ve been using Armor & Sword sliders for quite some time now (infielder arm strength at 3 and OF at 4) and as soon as I got the game with my eyes closed applied the same sliders… but this year it affects the attribute directly. Thanks man for the clarification I was going crazy over this!

It’s very interesting to see the ingame effect of Arm Str and Fielder Reaction.

For some reasons, no sliders are affecting the Fielding and Arm Acc attributes. Well not directly at least.

See below, one pic is Default Roster with all sliders at default. Second pic i set all slider at zero.

Same happens with sliders at 10. Some 99 will go up to 124.

Personally I think they need a better player rating system. I always thought the way NBA 2K's style of ratings would work great for The Show with a Max/Minimum potential system with a peak age where their attributes will hold near their max until their peak age. Too many times in franchise we see young players in their mid to late 20's reach their potential and then start dropping off quickly.
