Would this pitching change effect CPU vs CPU or MOM games or is it just for the User? I have mine set where I like it so would not want to download if it changes it. But I sure would like the box scores correct.

Re: MLB The Show 23 Patch #3 Tomorrow - Patch Notes
For best results IMO:
Clean screen. No K zone, no hot/cold zones, pitch selection, no ball fade, etc., etc. nothing.
Pause the game and learn the corresponding buttons for your pitchers pitches
Push button to select your pitch
Aim and press X to pitch
Use vibration on if you really want to waste a pitch
Using this method you have to get a feel how the individual pitches are working. There is no pinpointing of a pitch, just feel. As your pitch count increases and stamina reduces you will see the pitch location become a bit more difficult.
It may sound simple, but it works really well.
I would recommend for someone that someone who has never used it before to use some of the tools the game gives you. Whether it is classic on or fade as well as the strike zone and vibration. I would start with pitch and swing feedback off and go slowly remove settings if you want as you get more comfortable.
You get amazing results with some settings on and I have been running classic fade, strike zone on, vibration on, pitch select on, swing and pitch feedback off.Last edited by Funkycorm; 04-14-2023, 09:33 AM.Funkycorm

Re: MLB The Show 23 Patch #3 Available Tomorrow - Patch Notes
After some due criticism of the punchless CPU and a few other things in the impressions thread……..gameplay is BACK! I’ve already given up 2 homers to the Padres and there is noticeable hit authority, only 2 Ks thru 6.!!!Comment

I always hold the X button down for 1-2 seconds when pitching on classic. I only tap the X if I need a strike. But in the game descriptions in the game, it just tells you to tap X when using classic. I don't know why they don't explain about the timing of the X button or holding it vs tapping. Unless it is in the tutorials and I don't read them lol.Follow me on Twitch

Re: MLB The Show 23 Patch #3 Available Tomorrow - Patch Notes
If they didn't mention that pitching "changed" in this patch, I would have no reason to believe it did. Whatever changes they made are subtle as I finished a game and didn't notice any difference in pitching in this game versus the one I had just played prior to the patch downloading.
This is default Legend using meter pitching. Pitches still missed their mark (perfect accuracy - the ball still didn't stay true to aimed location and missed in the PAR zone), the CPU got good contact at times, I struck out 8 and walked 3. I don't see a difference.Comment

Classic pitching with no ball marker is the only way I can play now. I did turn the pitch selections back on (confidence is off) because I was tired of forgetting what pitches my pitchers throw.Comment
