Linking Account with Switch

I am getting the following error when attempting to link my Switch account to MLB the Show. I want to play cross platform on my PS5 and move my player to play on Switch when I am not home. But even though I have played the game on the Switch, I get this error:

An error occurred!
There was an issue connecting your account to the MLB Servers. Please make sure you have played the game first before trying again.

I remember this being a pain last year too. I wanna say once you link it, it takes a little bit to go through. Can't remember steps involved now though. But just follow steps and it may take a little bit for it to go through.
