    Re: Fielder's Reaction

I’ve noticed this too. Thankfully it hasn’t been to game breaking. I haven’t noticed the CPU having this problem though. I could be wrong. Might have something to do with the auto-reactions or whatever it’s called being set to on

I believe the auto reactions are only for player lock…I’ve looked and couldn’t find the option to turn off auto reaction for fielders…if I’m wrong please tell me where to look

I’ve noticed sluggish reactions in the OF in particular for the CPU as well. I think it’s likely a collective game design decision to increase the offense gained from balls in play by slowing fielder reaction times a bit. Balances out the possibility that it’s actually harder to hit HRs this year.

            Re: Fielder's Reaction

I can tell you this and agree here. I am a all star setting guy with custom sliders for years and has worked for me up to 22 but this years game all star doesn't feel the same as years past. Anyways not the topic here, so let's dive into this. I run a custom league that's based off DD ratings live series and we have played, tested 30-40 games from all star, default, to hall of fame from default to custom sliders.

I got the hitting, pitching, arms, base running etc working great even Fielder arms, but when it comes to reaction jumps to Fielding its this years game I have used my usual 2 Outfield speed to 4 and 5 even had reaction to 7 you are not fixing this years Outfield BS with sliders. You can turn Outfield speed to 10 ain't going to matter or really help when they dummies down response time reaction if u will, and Fielding.

You have player rating overhaul especially the end ratings, Fielding, reaction, speed, arms etc I get Yordan Alvarez is not Kiermier etc but he has 41 speed and 30 yes I said 30 reaction and he is not going to make 1 read. We play only online so there is no editing player attributes for us.

Our averages for hits per game varied from 4 or 5 to sometimes 9 or 10 thru the last 5 years or so. Fast forward to MLB 23 and everything is 15+ hits almost every game due to the terrible Fielding ratings. I went from all star to hall of fame which I could never hit on in the past Noa we are all hitting 5-10 runs and game to 15-20 hits per game and we bumped pitch speeds from last year 7/7 to now 9/9 and on Hall of Fame we should not be able to hit like this on 9/9 on Hall of Fame period! Pitch speeds and hitting are off but the culprit for so many hits is reaction and Fielding ratings.

So you know reaction slider is really for just infielders they need a separate slider for outfielders.

Hope it helps on what im seeing and have tried.

Infielder reactions are just as bad. It's ridiculous to see a weakly hit grounder get passed the infielder before he even moves.

                  Re: Fielder's Reaction

I notice it with outfielders and balls hit in the air. They have a really long “surprise” reaction. Makes it feel like balls going over their head a lot easier because of it.

Have noticed this a few times, still in ST in my franchise. On the worst ones, a fly down the line pretty much lands before my fielder will move.

We are now seeing outfielders running to a routine fly ball put there mitt hand up and ball deflects off mitt to roll to wall sometimes it bounces off wall the fielder looking dazed and confused before he goes and gets the ball.

The fielding in general feels like it got a lot worse since the patch. Not just me but I am seeing a lot more throwing errors from the CPU than I did the first month as well.

I haven’t noticed it with fielding, but base runners are atrocious at reacting to balls where they need to see if it’s going to make it past the infielder before they advance
