    Fielder's Reaction

I have only played Diamond Dynasty stuff but it seems to me like fielder's reaction times are way too slow. There are times when the ball isn't even hit hard but it's past the fielder before they even move, and we're not talking about bad fielders. Some of these are fielders with a fielding rating in the 70s or 80s and still having brutal reaction times. It's caused me to lose games at times. I've also had times when the fielders just will not field a ball. They just run right by it without ever fielding it. It's just brutal trying to field the ball sometimes.

    Re: Fielder's Reaction

I am so freaking sick of how at random times my fielders turn into the Bad News Bears!! This is freaking ridiculous!!! The guy's just stand there and don't react until after the ball is already by them or the first baseman just attempts to field the ball but somehow just magically misses it for a hit. I just got done playing a conquest game and I was 2 outs away from winning. All of a sudden a base hit by Turner to right right past my 1B Joey Meneses who didn't react until the ball was already in the outfield. Then the ensuring throw in from Ronald Acuna goes towards the 3rd base dugout allowing Turner to get to 2nd. Then the next batter (Realmuto) hits a ball and Meneses just magically misses it and it turns into a hit and Turner scores to tie the game. Then the next batter Harper gets a single. Then the next batter Schwarber hits what should have been an easy 3-6-3 double play but instead Meneses throws the ball into left-field allowing Harper to score and I lose. I wouldn't be so peeved but this isn't the first time this has happened to me and it's just so random. I can live with an error every now and then but when it all happens at once and it feels like the CPU just has decided that I'm not supposed to win the game it irks me. It's hard enough for me to play and win games on All-Star difficulty when things go right. It's impossible in a 3-inning game when things just fall all the pieces for absolutely no reason. I know SDS has denied that there's a comeback code built in but things like this game I just played really makes you wonder.

With DD I always feel like this stuff is driven by some other force in the game so I totally agree with you. That said I don’t play much DD so my sample size is small.

I definitely feel it on those moments when they ask you to hit a homerun or extra base hit. The hitting on those things is completely different from the hitting when playing an actual game. It can be so frustrating doing the exact same thing and getting dramatically different results.

Fielder reactions are terrible imo…I’m doing a padre franchise and I understand that Juan Soto is not necessarily a gold glove caliber fielder but he’s not as bad the games made him about to…every time a ball is hit to him he takes a bad read…it’s always first step is the wrong direction…pretty much can’t use him in the outfield cause it turns into doubles/triples…I play on simulation setting if that matters at all

I'm not a huge fan of the new fielder reactions either. Judge is an above average fielder, yet when a ball is hit his way, his initial reaction looks like he's going to fall flat on his face. It causes him to barely get to balls he should get to easily.

This makes me feel better that I'm not the only one having an issue with the fielder's reactions.

Oh, its in franchise too. I used to be able to snag balls down the lines….now players dont even move.

That's brutal. I might have to switch to auto fielding.

I never play diamond dynasty but in franchise players have a reaction attribute. Low reaction attribute means exactly that.

Ive noticed this as well. If your outfielder isn’t at least a bronze, you can expect some pretty bad jumps even on routine balls. I don’t remember it being that drastic in ‘22 or ‘21.

But even if fielders have a 60-80 reaction they're still getting horrible jumps on the ball. That's frustrating.

Yea, there’s definitely an issue with it. Sometimes they dont even move. And if push the dive button they dive forwards instead of sideways. Crazy.

Pretty much every fly ball or line drive goes over my outfielders heads in franchise. It’s frustrating that I’m losing games over my outfielders always getting terrible reads like they’re playing out of position.
