Why on earth would we need another patch? Other than adding some of the new city connects the games is playing quite well with some slider adjustments

I think for the city connects, stadium updates, equipment, and it seems as though they're patching in new face scans this year as well. Doesnt necessarily need to touch gameplay.

Well for me I want to use the new fielder throwing meter while also having the catcher suggest pitches. You can’t do both currently

They need to fix the frame rate issues on PS4.

Playing on PS5 so I don't know, is it prevalent on the PS4 Pros as well? I wonder how much they can more they can optimize it for the Last Gen stuff at this point. Framerate issues in a baseball game are a gamebreaker for me.

I know as least two bugs need to be fixed :

- a batter stats display glitch where H/AB stat overlap existing stats
- Quick count not working anymore ( they used to substrct one pitch per at bat) to avoid inflated pitch count

Oh got ya. I had no idea face scans were coming in patches. Always thought it was roster updates

That is very annoying. They had a past version that had bad framerate hiccups if you played in certain stadiums with runners on base. They were in game framerates hits so it made it really difficult and frustrating to play. I think they eventually patched that so it was better. Hopefully they do this year as well.

This game is a disaster. The presentation is so good & the player behavior and movements on defense, but my God does it feel like an EA Sports mess.

I had last years’ game playing so well and this one is a nightmare. The framerate on PS4 is a game breaker, the computer hitting and going down looking non-stop is embarrassing. Heck even the umpiring is insanely screwy this year. They moved the strike zone down physically and it’s becoming another nuisance with strikes at my ankles. I feel like the game is really scripted this year whether your hitting timing is on par or completely outta whack - it smells very fishy. They need a patch #4 desperately.

Dudes on PS4 need to prepare to move on, they’re gonna put less and less attention towards last gen as time goes on……. Sorry, but to bash the game playing it on out of date equipment is silly

The only thing holding me back is the long-awaited SOTS fix that's coming with Patch #4. That feature is CRUCIAL for the added realism it brings to all facets of the gameplay. That alone is enough to keep me playing the PS4 version even on the PS5.

It's ridiculous that they haven't figured out how to get SOTS working with the PS5 version. I'll immediately trade away the Stadium Creator in favor of full-use SOTS letting me use my favorite classic pro wrestling entrance music selections for my batter walkups and pitcher entrances! No question. (Also, I get the feeling that all of the new Xbox players who hadn't played The Show before the 21 version as well as other Sony newbies who've only ever played the game on PS5 have no idea what SOTS is and how much they are missing without it!)

My belief is that it isn't an issue of figuring out how to get it to work. Sony is no longer the sole publisher of the game, as a division of MLB publishes the game for Xbox and Switch. And with dual publishers, I think it's likely there is some sort of clause regarding feature parity between the versions. Meaning that SDS can't develop a feature for just the PS5 version that isn't available on the Xbox Series X/S version. PS4 was probably grandfathered in, and/or it doesn't apply to last gen versions (since obviously the last gen versions are missing Stadium Creator). And something with Sounds of the Show is, afaik, just not possible on Xbox because there isn't any way to import music (can't do it on things like WWE 2k anymore either).
