    RTTS Pitcher - Skillset/pitches advice

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a massive baseball fan, I'll watch occasionally but I don't really have a team and not really versed in the nuances.

That said I have started a fair few pitchers on RTTS and have never quite found something I'm enjoying.

What would be a good skillset to go with and what pitches? Most info I've found is linked to online and DD, which I don't really mess with.

    Thanks in advance

Unless I'm trying to recreate a real life pitcher,l I generally go with 4 Seam Fastball, Curveball, Changeup, Slider, and maybe another type of fastball like a cutter, 2 Seam, or Sinker. That's all you need, really. Any other pitch types are rare or very specialized.

For the changeup and curveball, if your pitcher has a high armslot or likes to pitch north to south, choose a regular changeup and a 12-6 curveball. If they're more of a 3/4 armslot or likes their pitches to have some lateral movement, choose a regular curveball and a circle changeup. If they're a sidearm pitcher, you can try the sweeping curveball, slurve, or just use the slider.

Hope this helps. It also might help to do some research on real life pitchers and see what kind of stuff they throw.

I agree, I usually use a 4-seam, circle change, slider, curve, and 5th is usually a sinker or something to help induce ground balls.

I am really not sure if pitcher animations and arm slots really have any affect or differences to the pitches... I usually pick one that is fairly quick and not to distracting. it helps me time it better.

as for the perks in rtts... that is totally up to you on how you want to build your guy. in general, I don't thik you can go wrong with velocity and break. both really increase the swing and miss potential. however be aware that you might have to sacrifice control for this. so you might me more prone to serve up meatballs or miss the edges often.

If that is a problem, then choose velocity and control.

as you progress through your career and earn points you will unlock better perks and skill sets. from bronze up through diamond. the higher ones give better boosts.

also if you are not that familiar with baseball in general, try to learn what pitches to throw when. change location and more importantly speed often. watch the batter swing feedback for help. if you throw a fastball and he swings early on it, then follow it with a change...imagine how early he will be then...

try to work low in the zone with everything, Although nothing wrong with a high fastball, just make sure you get it to the very top or just above the zone.

I go with my actual pitches I threw in high school. 2-seamer, 12-6, and circle change usually. I threw a 4 seamer and a slider as well, but rarely.

However, I'm a big fan of the typical power pitcher rotation of 4 seamer, sweeper, and a change up.

I generally just go with 3 pitches since I play closer most of the time.
