20 strikeout pitchers - no Kerry Wood?

Apparently Boog Sciambi, you know, the play-by-play guy for the Cubs, is unaware that Kerry Wood, you know, a Cubs pitcher, had a 20 strikeout game.

Not picking on Boog, just thought it was funny that they would leave this commentary in the game.

They even have a Diamond Dynasty mission in last years 22 Show to replay the Moment to replicate Woods 20 K's. I tried to match it Sunday, which was the 25th anniversary of Woods feat. I had 19 K's to start the 9th inning. I fell just short with 3 flyouts to the outfield.

That's a weird miss. Clemens, Johnson and Scherzer are all part of the 3,000 K club, while Wood is not, so I wonder if they meant to include that nugget as well?

As a Cubs fan who happens to be the same age as Kerry and watched the game live on TV, that certainly hurts. One of the most impactful sports moments of my life.



Boog isn't exactly the best announcer out there though, and he's new to the Cubs. He's also likely reading a script given to him, and its possible he's not allowed to deviate from it, even if its wrong?
