For me, the best thing 23 has going for it is the stadium vault.

There are a couple dudes who are real artists when it comes to creating ST, AAA and AA parks.

The 1984 40-man season project which will inc. all the old school stadiums might also be stellar and be another reason to keep 23 around.

I've just rolled w/ default sliders on HOF level and don't think much about it.

20's gameplay still the GOAT.

What about fixing alternate uniforms not being used in franchise mode, or adjusting the sim engine for fewer complete games (since this would just mean tweaking the default SP stamina and CPU hook to act like SP Stamina 2-3 and CPU Hook 7-8, that is an easy fix in their end).

Simulated steal stats have always been wonky. Always way too many steals as a team in the rankings.

It's actually a lot better this year. So far in my franchise, the league as a whole is averaging 0.63 steals and 0.99 attempts per game. Real life is 0.71 steals and 0.89 attempts. The success rate is still off (64% in game, irl is 79.6% in 2023 and 75.4 in 2022), but the rule changes increasing steals has significantly closed the gap.

What about fixing alternate uniforms not being used in franchise mode, or adjusting the sim engine for fewer complete games (since this would just mean tweaking the default SP stamina and CPU hook to act like SP Stamina 2-3 and CPU Hook 7-8, that is an easy fix in their end).

You can pick alternate uniforms yourself. And if fixing complete games is simple, why don't you just change CPU hook and starter stamina yourself?

Ironically, while I love the stadium creator and have played zero games in a generic ballpark since the feature was introduced in 21, the best thing 23 has going for it is that it’s free on Game Pass. The moment I have to pay $70 to play it on release you won’t see me around. No sports game is worth $70 to me these days - the core game isn’t targeted at me anymore.

What bothers me most about stealing bases during sim games is even if you put steal and br agg rating to 0 for guys that never steal bases, they still attempt staels during sim....

True, I was replying to you saying they aren't being used in franchise. They are, you just have a choice to select whichever uniforms you want to use for each game.

What I don’t get is that while this worked well before, it hasn’t worked that great for the last 2 years at least. They didn’t seem to update the uniform schedules with newly added uniforms so it was a lot of random jersey changes.

When they added the Mets black jersey, they would only select it for road games rather than the Friday home games. I would end up having to change most of other teams’ jerseys due to this anyway. So if anyone wanted to use this for “uniform accuracy”, it was wrong 50% of the time the CPU chose it.

I always assume plays like that are wild pitches or passed balls and it just doesn't display the right text.

Not seeing much other than A's catcher Carlos Perez is missing his number on the back of his uniform. I believe post launch Miguel Cabrera had the same issue but was fixed with next patch.
