You arent pitching is part of the problem. I am a manage mode player. Your statement is VERY accurate. RP comes in and is horrible. One of the issues with manage mode/quick manage sim. Starting pitching is to strong and RP is just weak. I had constant games where SP ing would be lights out and my RP would come in and all the hits and runs started. It is something within the sim programming this iteration. Which is one of the reasons I am going to try and go back to "playing" and not do manage mode. I have over 5 years of manage mode playing and while I wont use the word scripted, I will say something under the hood is different. Tendencies are a lot more noticeable.

The issues I'm talking about are when I was pitching full games. Hard to say if what you're saying is true for quick managing/simming pitching only. Using the Pirates so when they give up hits and runs I feel okay cause it's the Pirates. If I am very cautious and slow down when quick managing I can manage the RP where it has seemed fine to me so far.

I've given up 6-7 runs consistently sadly in 3 or 4ip by my SP. RP come in and hold it down for the most part. Game balance for pitching seems way more balanced for me.

Idk what your stamina sliders are. But for simulated/quick managing games, SP stamina needs to be at 2 and RP at least 7. I have RP stamina at 8. That could be playing a part into it.

I found out this year all the /9 ratings are strictly for simulated/quick managing results and have no effect in played games. Control, velocity, break attributes are only thing that is used for games played.

The bobbled ball transfer was something that happened years ago leading to cpu coming back to tie or take lead before the game seemed to let you get the third out. That hasn't been in the game

In franchise - manage full game - I preferred last year's gameplay. They have eliminated a couple fixed to previous problems.

The upside is improved draft prospects. On the field last year's game had issues but this year is worse.

Too many times I have been CRUISING with a dominant pitcher (Maddux, Big Unit) to have a pitch miss spot and get crushed.

Hitting in DD as well. Probably compounded by the varying difficulty levels, but there are plenty of times I felt like I made poor contact, and the ball sailed over the fence.

I don't believe in a comeback code, but I've just had too many instances of this.

Up 4-1 going into 9th… Padres send 10 to the plate vs 3 different pitchers. They Go up 7-4, I’m ready to beat my wife at this point… Hader comes in and walks the bases loaded. I bring two home and lose 7-6. Every other game is just a circus at the end of the game with one team making crazy come backs. I enjoy the chaos of a bullpen in shambles but it’s getting redundant.

If you are using slider modifications and claiming scripting it’s worth considering whether you’re the one who broke the game. Sliders should be considered “use at your own risk”. A certain user base wants customization, but the game they designed you to play is default sliders.

And before someone says it, it’s not realistic to ask them to test the 1000’s of possible slider combinations.

I won’t believe this until someone provides hard data on default sliders. Any kind of “it happens a lot to me” or “this happened in my last game” is anecdotal and thus not real evidence at all.

Live a little buddy, it’s symbolic for how frustrated I was - in the 1990s we called things like this a joke. I guess in 2023 we have to make sure our console identifies as a console before playing it.
