Change Up = Un-hittable for anyone else?

Anyone else just having a nightmare hitting change ups? Every guy has a Johan Santana change up against me and it’s been misery. They just completely fall out of the zone.

It can be brutal, and if you keep swinging at it, the CPU will keep on throwing it. The key is to really train yourself to make that pitcher get the ball up. Watch that release point carefully.

      This. ^

It’s slow and breaks down. If you swing at it once the cpu will throw it again. If so, try to learn to take a pitch until the cpu throws you a strike.

I have a custom cam for ChangeUp or Splitters pitchers.

I’m elevating the strike zone to have a better view of those low in the zone pitches. It helps a lot for me.

May be a compromise on high zone pitches tho.

Glad it’s not just me. The physics are too much like a splitter.

I can crush changeups to opposite field when I’m patient enough. But a good splitter? Most unhittable pitch in the game.

They used to own me, but Iturned fastball pitch speed and off speed ptch speed down to four from the default five and now I hold my own.

Depends on the putchers arm angle, coupled with throwing motion.

I have hit my fair share of no doubters on default HOF, and then some guys just carve me up. Just need to take an inning or 2 and learn their tendencies.

I also play on All-Star and have noticed offspeed has been more difficult lately as well. It seems like the speed between fastballs and offspeed is greater or something. It's also causing me to make much weaker contact because my timing seems off. Last game I played I bumped the Offspeed Ptich (So it's 1 tick above Fastball Pitch Speed), User Timing and User Contact slider by 1. It seemed to help but it's a small sample size.

Very, very loose rule of thumb is you should be laying off secondary pitches most of the time anyway. You said yourself they’re ending up outside of the zone, meaning even if they were a strike they’d be a pitcher’s pitch you’d just end up grounding out on.

The only secondary pitches you should be swinging at (save for the obvious situations where you have to swing) are the ones with “crush me” written all over them. Lay off the rest of them.
                    Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I stay away from low pitches, the lower they throw it the harder it is for me to recognize it’s a changeup. It does result in getting called out on a fastball at the bottom of the zone from time to time but it’s a fair trade off. The higher you force them to throw it the more it starts to resemble a hanging breaking ball

I can technically hit them, but they (circle change particularly), just goes nowhere. It's either a foul dribbler at the plate or a weak grounder for an out.
