Re: MLB The Show 23 Patch 10 - Patch Notes

The commentary has gotten better. Some of the odd conversations that seemed to cutoff or be missing substance have been resolved.

Also hearing more references to things that have previously happened in my franchise season.

It seems much more likely that it's something on Nike's end.

The new balance cleats they've added are still out of date and the one newer model doesn't even look correct according the cleat in real life. Why do we continue to make excuses for their incompetence in this area.

Incompetence is not a fair assumption. A fair assumption would be either they are unable to, due to some reason that you aren't aware of....or they don't care about it as much as you do.

          It’s funny.

If someone offers an explanation for why something may be why it is without proof then they are blindly defending or making excuses

If someone insults or accuses the devs of incompetence/wrongdoing without proof it’s acceptable.

          Never figured that out

Still no fix for excessive cpu swing and misses at pitches. At this point I don't even miss playing the game. Other games able to keep me entertained.

Not a single gameplay change all year is just insane to me. Do they feel the game plays perfect or something? Lol

Sorry that sucks. On legend pitching I'm seeing great results.

Probably not enough of a call to mess with any one thing? You can look at OS, Reddit, Twitter, etc and find a bunch of individual issues, but none has really popped up to the top of the list as being an annoyance for everyone. I wouldn't expect any changes unless that happens, and being a few months into the game's cycle I don't know what the odds of that are.

Yeah. I offered a wealth of probable fixes. I admittedly had to struggle to find my happy place and now I’m quite pleased. Just not seeing the swings and misses like I initially did. I guess some people are just too good at gaming. Some people can finish Red Dead Redemption in 20 hours. Some, it takes 20 months. Such is gaming, I guess.

You could assume that. But if I go play MLB 22 I don't have the swing and miss, high strikeout problem. So it's not just all skill level.

Maybe true, but if true for you it should be true for all (most). It should be solvable. No one was more frustrated than me. Now…..no. 22 aside, 23 HAS changed, but I could never go back to 22. I was able to resolve it. There will no be, I think, no gameplay tuning for the game.

Getting that cleat color glitch thing again, where I believe it’s supposed to be dirt (light brown) but it’s showing up as blue or purple instead. Was in 22 as well but hadn’t seen it in 23 until now.
                            Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

I will throw this out for y’all to consider. I thought the strikeout count was to high in the beta test and hoped that would change before the game dropped but it didn’t.
KT told me about a change he had tried and it lowered his K count some. I tried it and it did help some.
I am playing on legend this year ( normally played on HOF ). I have CPU contact at 8, power at 6, timing at 10. I’m still getting some higher K counts than I would like but it is what it is.
I do feel this years version is easier than previous versions.

Curious, what settings/sliders are you using and is this in DD or the regular offline mode? Strikeouts are admittedly up in this years game by design since everyone complained about all the foul balls the last few years, but I haven’t been getting an absurd amount on legend pitching unless it’s a high K/9 guy. In single player DD though, I strike so many out because DD pitchers are OPed.
