    Always Regional Theme in Franchise?

Does Franchise mode always default to the regional presentation theme now? Playing every 4th game, I have not seen the “national” style presentation the whole season.

Yeah I play all 162 and the only time I’ve seen it is for opening day games.

Honestly it’s the inferior of the two packages anyway imo. I miss the MLB Network theme.
    Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.

      Not always

If your game is considered the game of the week it will show the National theme

Also all playoff games use national theme

I remember games played on Holidays used to default to the National Theme too but I can't remember if I've seen that this year or not.

This is so true, why in the world do they take things out? They still have MLB Network commentators in Road To The Show and MLB Network billboards everywhere! They are also wasting the historical themes which they should allow us to use if we want.

My guess is due to contract language and writings that since Boog and Singleton are not part of the MLB Network team, that they cannot commentate using the MLB Network theme

Yeah, I hadn't really thought about until I saw this thread. I'm playing as the A's, so didn't think anything of it. I think I remember Opening Day being the national theme for me, but I played that over a month ago. I happened to be at Memorial Day, and that game defaulted to the Regional Theme. Also checked every Sunday game, including the, for some reason, two night games, and they were all regional too.

Not a huge deal, as you can always manually switch it. But that's weird.

I can't remember for sure, but didn't there used to be an indicator on the Calendar when a game was "Nationally Televised"?

I miss MLB network as well, it looked professional like a real televised game. I also miss the score being on the top left of the screen.

That has basically my experience, too. If this has been removed it is, like removing the game auto-picking alternate uniforms occasionally, an annoying bug/omission.

It's definitely a bug, since they added a "Game of the Week" this year. They talked about it in one of the reveal streams.

I am playing Franchise with the Yanks and Padres and am in begin of May. I have had several national broadcasts and a couple game of the week.

It might be tied to team prestige, which makes some sense.

It would have been nice to see the national games on schedule but again that might be tied to the game of the week and is dynamic.

                            .
Yeah, I literally had my first Game of the Week in my Reds franchise last night. We're in August of 2024 and we were putrid in 2023 and are finally beginning to be taken seriously here in 2024 as we've been battling for the NL Central.

Lots of folks doing "rebuilds" around these parts are not going to see them while their teams remain irrelevant...and it makes total sense.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Yeah, top left was way better and looked like a real game. What's even worse is you can tell some of the cut scenes during games that they've re-used year to year were made for the score bug to be in the upper left. Like when it shows the wide shot of the pitchers mound and home plate the batter is blocked by the score bug.
