    Franchise Player Updates

I am in June of my Franchise so whenever an attribute update is released I like to update the atrributes of the players in my Franchise for a more accurate experience.

The issue I am having is with updating the pitchers attributes. The updated attributes made by The Show during the updates show zero difference to the individual areas for us to change to reflect the new overall rating.

    Am I missing something here?

Yes, don't worry about overall rating. It means nothing.

I do the same. When pitchers overall changes it is just them switching from RP to SP or vice versa.

Their /9 attributes is typically all you'll be adjusting. However, when you see their velocity, break, and control attributes change, that's when you gotta do something different. Those mean they edited velocity, break and control attributes for an individual pitch in their repertoire.

The only way to know exactly what is to go into the player screen to see. What I do is take pics of the individual pitch attributes. Then go into my franchise save and adjust them. These are the most tedious changes, but highly worth it imo. The /9 ratings are only for simulated results. The individual pitch attributes of control, break, and velocity are what matters for games played.

I used to do it that way too, but found an easier way late last year. If you go to Showzone.gg they'll actually have the velocity/control/break for the pitchers whole repertoire. Makes it a lot easier to update pitches.

As far as /9 not mattering, I think you're mistaken. Your H/9 and K/9 (and clutch with RISP) still impact the CPU's inner/outer PCI, even if it's invisible. And someone tested it last year, and control doesn't actually seem to do much, if anything at all, in gameplay. BB/9, velocity, pitch type (a fastball is more accurate than a curveball everything else being equal), and which slot a pitch is (a 4 seam as pitch 1 is more accurate than a 4 seam as pitch 4 everything else being equal) is what determines the accuracy of a given pitch.

Below are some screenshots of 3 innings of 4 seam fastballs to none swinging opponents with classic pitching on default legend. I did not touch the left stick at all, these are just thrown where they want to go, and Strider is at his default live ratings (56 bb/9, 80 control on his 4 seam) except for the noted change. There isn't really any notable difference, imo, between 0 and 99 control, but there's a clear difference between 0 and 99 BB/9.
