If I guess location ans I guess wrong but still swing am I penalize and it mess up the hit I will get or it doesn’t matter I’m on directional

You are penalized for guessing wrong. If you are playing directional, it is best to have guess pitch set to off. If it is a matter of being able to read pitches or not without it on, I would consider a new hitting camera.

But if you want ratings to truly matter, like with directional, I would recommend turning guess pitch off.

It may be an adjustment, but your hitting will improve substantially.

see my problem is this year only hitting is very hard and im trying to get the hang of it. so im using zone keeping pci in the middle and only guess low and only swing till i guess right or 2 strikes. for some reason i cant use directional. i know guessing is not very like around these parts but i only do it to draw more walks and i see the ball a little easier

I would try a few things to make hitting a bit easier (try one at a time):


1. Change hitting camera. This alone can have a huge difference in hitting.
2. Decrease pitch speed one
3. Lower hitting difficulty one level


I would honestly recommend the above in order with turning guess pitch off from the get go. Yes I am not a fan of guess pitch as I view it as a crutch like swing info. But I am only suggesting this. Play how you want. But turning it off is my advice. It will make you a better hitter.

Use whatever hitting interface feels comfortable. Give these few things a whirl. If you are still having issues, you can then use sliders to tune to your specific needs.

If using guess pitch helps you enjoy the game then it’s all that matters.

As for your approach the CPU recognizes what pitches and zones your choosing so if you’re constantly choosing the same pitch and same location, it’s going to be difficult to produce consistent positive results.

Try guessing what you actually think the the pitcher is going to throw and where. Use the pitcher Analysis tool to see how a pitcher is pitching overall and each hitter.

I would also suggest that on the first pitch of the at bat choose a zone that is a hot zone for the hitter as these are locations that hitter handles very well. Then choose accordingly based on situation, hitter, and how pitcher is pitching.

thanks everyone i think i figure it out i keep the pci in the middle and only try to swing at good pitches and if i get to two strikes guess low since those are harder for me to see and i swing at alot. now i just got to find a camera. i know so many people use so many different cameras i really dont know which one i like or see the ball better
