It's been broken since several patches ago. Unless my son or I are on the lowest difficulty levels everything is either a lazy fly ball or weak grounder.

As crazy as it sounds, the reason you are having difficulty hitting is because the difficulty level is too low. The super large PCI has you making contact on nearly every pitch. And a large majority of it will NOT be squared up.

Raise difficulty to at least Veteran, but Allstar is what I recommend. If you need to lower difficulty from there raise your timing slider up. Timing is everything when hitting on this game.

No that's not the case.

Several months ago with one of the patches a major shift occurred with hitting. It changed the variance on the type of contact made. I'm not talking about results on hits but on how the ball left the bat. Well over 90% of contact was either a lazy fly ball or a weak grounder. This was occurring on all star. After trying many different ideas none of them worked.

So now after this patch this contact percentage isn't happening so the game is playable again.

On the lowest settings, hitting is still easy. The very lowest setting is all fastballs down the middle. Even with a larger PCI, you're still squaring those up.

They keep saying nothing has changed but it changed in April and now after months has changed back.

Just glad it is and have been trying to let other users that have had the issue know it has been better.

If you didn't experience it good for you. For those of us who did we would want to know that something appears to have changed.

I consider myself absolutely reasonable, a huge fan of this game, respect the devs for giving us a gift, but this isn’t quite fair. I was not experiencing “variance” when the game came out. The only variance I had was the different ways I was pulling my hair out (of which I have little).

This is a topic not one person can explain nor confirm. The mere fact that gamers had to change their difficulty settings, adjust sliders that they didn’t have to adjust in previous years confirms a change, not a variance. The struggle has depended on the individual gamer.

I’ve got the game working for me, finally, and understand ebbs and flows, but we all know the true “testers” for this game is here on the boards (see bugs and glitches) so there is absolutely no certainty that the hitting in this game passed with flying colors when their own people tested it. If so other the bugs would be few. Just my opinion, but I’m not going to discount anything just because there are two sides to this.

Didn't experience it because it didn't happen lol. Nothing changed in April, and nothing changed with this update. You hit a slump, and now you've gotten out of it. That's the power of placebo. Once you started believing hitting was "broken", you were going to manifest poor results.

There's absolutely differences in hitting between this year and last, but hitting hasn't changed in any updates this year.

Wi actually agree that hitting has suffered greatly this last patch. I’m like 110 games into a season and all of a sudden I can barely make solid contact everything is a lazy fly ball, jam shot etc. timing is almost impossible. And nothing else has changed. He’s not wrong.
