Yes true, but streaks are streaks. I just don't want the Reds to offer an inflated contract to the guy (40yrs old +) that could prevent the future of the Reds from taking shape. And I'd like to see him retire a Red. If he can hold onto this solid performance, maybe extend him a year, but I think the Reds finally have enough depth that he could easily retire, become a coach with the Reds, and offer his services that way. But again, just me.

I'm not a Reds fan, so I don't really care about him finishing as a Red lol. I think it'd be cool if he DHed for the Blue Jays.

Starting a fresh hitting only Reds franchise soon and have done this. Elly in CF, Senzel in RF vs LHP. Fraley in LF, and Friedl in LF vs RHP. Senzel sits out vs RHP

Steer at 3B who can also play LF. I saw him there at a game I attended, and while not great he is solid. He's made a couple nice plays in LF this year as well. McLain at SS of course.

Marte IMO is not looking good for his potential IRL. India I think will be the guy who is eventually traded IRL before he is due a contract. As I'm sure the Reds will sign Elly to a lucrative long term deal similar to what the Mariners gave Julio. Idk about 12yrs/$210mil, but probably not too far off.

Reds also have Greene, Lodolo, Steer, and McLain all who I'm sure they'd love to keep long term. Will be interesting to see how it unfolds. Hopefully we can keep 3 out of the 5 core guys.

Elly reminds me of Eric Davis.

it also wouldn't surprise me if one of (or a combo of) Marte, India, Encarnacion-Strand, McLain, Steer get included in a trade to bolster the rotation. So that could make it more likely that Elly stays at SS long term.
