Miscommunication in the Outfield Errors?

I’m playing MLB The Show 20 and wondering if anyone seen any miscommunication in the outfield leading to a dropped ball error in the game? Or does this occur in the newer games?

Not seen it once and have outfield errors turned up. Something that needs work IMO as outfielders seem to know exactly who is fielding as soon as bat hits ball.

Would be great to see confusion/collisions. I’d even settle for 3 fielders running to field the catch as opposed to just the one every time.

Do you guys mean a ball hit in no man's land and it drops between 3 guys? I've seen where that happens and if I'm using manual fielding I lunged at the ball last minute and in the reaching animation he drops it and called an error....never happens on auto fielding though. Always drops with three guys converging on the ball.

I’m wondering if it’s a slider thing or that it’s not even programmed into the game by the developers

Yeah, same...not sure why plays like that don't result in more chances for errors. Seems only to give errors to the outfield if it's a bad throw.

I’m going to experiment with lowering Fielding reaction and increasing Outfield fielding errors and see if it does anything.

Also would like to see some dropped balls from the OFs if they’re fighting the sun or lighting on fly balls.

In future games I would like to see an option where the user can select who’s going for the ball with two guys going after it even with Auto fielding on.

I believe ‘switch player’ button appears when a ball bounces off the wall and two fielders are close by, so what you’re asking for may already be in.

I auto field too. Had to drop fielders reaction way down (3) to introduce a human element. Game still way too robotic with reactions and path to the ball.

I actually just saw this. Can't remember if it was in 20, 21, or 22 because I play all three but it was one of them.
