    Update

MLBTS 24 needs nothing added. No stupid stadium creator crap. No dumb Dino things, alien garbage, or broken building junk. DD, whatever

Instead how about they just update programming to today's baseball instead of 10 years ago baseball.
No one pitches out anymore. I've seen one pitchout in baseball in the last 3 seasons.
Complete games are next to nothing now. Ya, they still happen, but not at the rate in the show.
    Bullpen bullpen bullpen. Enough said
Automatic 2 out 3-2 count. 1, the 1B doesn't hold the runner and 2, not a big deal to put them in motion, but why when it could automatically happen.
Adjust players in batters box. To close. To many HBP bc of it. Not everyone is in the inside lower corner of the box.
    Just some examples.

    Also, seperate DD from Franchise.

    Disclaimer
I know, know. The game is perfect blah blah, rah rah, go sds go.

Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
    CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

All those things you mentioned are good ideas, and the snarky remark at the end wasn't needed. You could've gotten your point across without it.

Fair points but it doesn't matter. DD is what makes money and that is what they care about most.

        Re: Update

Eventually you will have to pay to play the seasons just like they just did for 2k24.

If the 2k24 Battle Pass is a success look for the rest of the sports gaming world to do the same.

I could definitely see SDS copying 2k.

Are you saying in 2k you’re going to have to pay extra to play multiple seasons within franchise mode?

          What???

No it has no bearing on franchise mode

I think the term "Season" is confusing to use in a sports game for people who don't play online.

Yeah, they don't literally mean seasons as in the games you okay throughout the year in a franchise. I think if it as seasons like Fortnite, COD, or Apex. I saw in the NBA 2k thread that someone was so upset bc they thought they were going to have to pay extra for every season they play in their franchise, and I wanted to be like no that's not what they mean.

                  Re: Update

It actually could make franchise mode better if they did something like that. I would pay to get more franchise features that would be extra that we do not have now. If they would devote more time to franchise if they did this then that would be good. Like I think 2K you can use points to unlock different badges. What I remember is like a spider web and if you choose to upgrade like GM you can then maybe unlock a better negotiator badge where you might get discounts on free agents or there is one that you can unlock to increase revenue from ticket prices. I wouldn't mind something like that in MLB the show if you want to use that.

Honestly, I'd be pretty irritated if they did nothing to stadium creator. That thing still needs a LOT of features.

They have really missed a lot of opportunity with the stadium creator. Wall signage, distances, domes etc.
the blown up buildings, dinosaurs, aliens etc is just a waste to me.

I think he just means they can't add anything he doesn't approve of. Only real, serious baseball items allowed.

I know that the fantasy things (aliens, dinosaurs, etc..) aren't popular amongst the community here on OS, nor is it popular with the sim community, but they aren't a complete waste of resources.

I say that because for my 8 year old son and his buddies, they are props to use in the on-going challenge of who can create the " most awesomeness" park to play in. They build a park, play in it and talk about how cool it is, or isn't.

And while all that may seem "pointless" to us sim heads, as they play they start asking me questions about players, teams, the game, or what should they do in this situation, or how should they set a lineup, things of that nature. And that conversation carries over to him paying more attention when I have the games on while we're in our gaming area, and he compares a player on the tv to the video game, or sees a player on tv do well, and he wants to add them to his team. This leads to more dialogue of us discussing the game itself and making plans to get to more games because he's more interested in the game itself and the players, than just going for the concession stand.

Look I know these things seem like a waste to many, myself included in regards to "lets keep it real", but as a Dad who loves the sport of baseball and selfishly wants my son to take an interest in it, eh, maybe these dinosaurs and aliens aren't so bad after all.

I agree that blown up buildings, aliens and dinosaurs might appeal to the kids and I’m all for kids getting involved in the sport but, with the past add ons in previous patches I think they are missing some real opportunities to make the stadiums more appealing to their older crowd that strives for a more realistic experience.
I actually learned the rules of hockey after my son brought home a hockey game about 25 years ago.

You know. They can add all the dumb things they want, but this is a baseball game catering, I WOULD THINK, to baseball. They have done some questionable things to this game that, IMO, were unnecessary. And look at the stadium creator. Tens of thousands, practically void of giant wasps, burned out buildings, etc.
