The Menus in This Game Need Work

The layout of the menus is fine. But the functionality is so bad and it's been like this for years that I wonder if there's something behind the scenes preventing them from being more user-friendly.

Across many modes and menus I'm constantly asked to "Confirm" something. Except the menu by default highlights "Cancel" instead of "OK". I have to hit twice as many buttons every time. When offering arbitration to a player in the franchise mode offseason, I have to confirm that I want to then it tells me that I just accomplished what I literally set out to do, and just witnessed happen.

To play a game within franchise mode I have to:
    1. Confirm that I want all other games to be simulated
    2. Pick which way I'd like to play the game (Full, Manage, Player Lock, etc.
    3. Select which team I am
3.5 Select the Uniform (sidebar: every team's City Connect uniform is also located in a different spot which is so odd)
    4. Select the Stadium
4.5 Select the game options (Quick Counts is OFF every time which is so dumb. This should be an option within other settings, as should all of the options in this menu really)
    5. Select my Starting Pitcher
    6. Select my Starting Lineup

8 things to decide across 6 menus. All of this could be in the team selection screen, like Madden (whose menus are an entirely different kind of difficult) or NBA 2k.

In Franchise Mode, If I "View Today's Games" (showing me every team's games on that day, but never shows me the team's records, which it definitely should!), opt to play one of those games, if I make it to the team selection screen and back out, it doesn't take me back to the View Today's Games menu or even just one menu prior (#2 above), it takes makes back to the calendar instead. I'm not sure what's so final about choosing which way I want to play the game and we have to start all over after selecting that part.

The free agent coaches menus are a mess. All the same people are available for base coaches, hitting coaches, mangers, but depending on which position you're trying to hire, they're all shown in a different order. I'd like to say "they're all sorted differently" but they're not sorted in any way whatsoever, nor can they be.

When editing a player and exiting, it always takes you back to the full roster menu at the top of the list, sorted by player overall rating. If I'm editing my Double A team or my outfielders, just anchor the menu where I was just was.

The menu layout in this game is whatever, but just make it easier to use. NBA 2K's menus are the most usable by far, but even they have some minor things to fix. While EA's sports games seems committed to having to slowest, most tedious interface around, so at least MLB The Show is still better than theris.
