    Question about CPU Tendering Contracts

I am hoping someone can help me out. I simmed the first season and am in the start of the offseason. I am using 30 team control and have one team as mine. But I am doing my own free agents and trades so I turned the CPU profile teams to free agents and trades to manual so they don’t sign anyone on their own. I have contracts set to auto. I got to January and noticed that all the teams only have like 70 players. So I have to go back to a save I made at the beginning of the offseason. But the CPU did not render any contracts on the rookies.

I switched over to a CPU team and go over to the tender contracts button and it says “contracts auto”. I can push square to change it back and forth to manual.

But what is making the cpu not tender any of these players? Is it because free agents are set to manual?

Re: Question about CPU Tendering Contracts

The impending free agency period and arbitration don't count toward the renew contracts. Renew contracts are for those not eligible for arbitration or free agency yet.

Correct. But I'm trying to figure out what setting I have wrong that is making the CPU not tender the minor leaguers.

For example, I'm the Cubs and everything is set to manual.
Every other team has it's own profile and I have everything set to auto except for free agents and trades. That way the CPU don't make any trades or sign any free agents. I would think that contracts set to auto would make the CPU tender their own players. But every time I sim past December 2nd (deadline to tender contracts), the other teams go down to about 75 players. And those minor leaguers are now in the free agency pool.

I have done a regular offseason with my own team and had the CPU teams set to auto so they could do their free agents and trades and they had no issue tendering their contracts. So I'm thinking it is tied to free agents being set to manual that they aren't offering them a contract.

Because when I have to tender my contracts, I go in each player and offer them a 1 year deal. Most are looking for a $750K or $60K deal.
