If we could get MVP's owner mode with The Show's game play it would be incredible!

The soundtrack on it was great as was the one for the college baseball 06 game. Madden had great sound tracks back then too.

You can find PS2 games for $5 or less but that 2007 college baseball game must be a treasured addition cause the cheapest one I could find was like $40.

I play 2006 every now and then on my original XBOX.

Now that my son is playing college ball I am going to have to revisit it!

Hopefully after EA has their College Football game up and running, they will give a return to MLB some serious thought. I wish they would return to making College Basketball and NASCAR games again too.

EDIT - I just realised what sub-forum this is in. Strange.

I had the game on PS2 and then on PC. Probably the most fun I've had with a graphic baseball game (had some great OOTP play). Its one of the only games I've ever finished a full 162 season on.

On PC it's great because of all the classic rosters you can do and the stadium mods. Just phenomenal fun.

I started this thread to compare MVP to the Show. That’s why it’s in the Show’s forum.

                  Revisiting MVP Baseball 2005

Holy crap guys.....we are head deep into a William Peace University Dynasty on MVP 2006 NCAA Baseball.

Man this game is such a blast and fundamentally holds up!!!!!

So much so I am also doing a new Yankees franchise on MVP 2005 as well till Spring 2024. Then back to Yankees Year 8 on The Show 20.

But wow.....what a great series and the gameplay and franchise/dynasty depth is top notch.

Also defense and base-running controls are still better on this series than The Show. So good.

We were spoiled then and had no idea. From 2003-2006 we had: Madden at its’ peak, NFL 2k5, MVP at its’ peak, NCAA Football 06, 3 collegiate sports represented in games, NHL 2004, NHL 2k5, NBA Live 2005, PES 6, and EA Nascar at its’ peak.

Then 2k sells for $20, NFL and EA get simultaneously pissed and sign with each other, and the slide begins that continues today.

In my opinion this belongs on the con side of a Pro and Con list. I don't want my video baseball game to take 3 hours to play, but I don't want it over in 30 minutes either. Lately I've scaled back my QC games to almost nil. I wish EA had made a baseball game for the PS3. I can still revisit PS3 games but tho I still have my PS2, I can't go back and enjoy because of the visuals. The PS4 eventually ruined me for games on the PS2. Recently I even went back to Madden 99 on the original PlayStation but I couldn't get through ten minutes of that. And originally I enjoyed playing Madden 99 for a good five years. It was like around 2004 before I retired my 99 disc for good (for the most part). Last year I played MVP, High Heat and a couple others but I couldn't stay with any of them for more than a few innings. What would be great is if EA could do like GTA5 and re-release MVP for the PS5.

Amazingly I have been able to play MVP 2005 and 2006 and have a great time despite the obvious age.

It won't replace The Show but it certainly has so much good going for it in terms of the fun factor.

Ahh! Yes. I still have my owner mode since 05. Have 6 seasons in with the Angels (playing every game). 1 playoff appearances, 0 titles, -$2,455,000 in the hole lol. Had to slash payroll to get out of then hole. Miss this game. May revisit shortly.
                          Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!

I just picked up 2006, which I had never played prior. Man I wish this series lasted longer. What a great game, it’s more than just a reskin of 2005, it’s a true improvement in gameplay. Also a refreshing change of pace to play in those small ballparks and a 60 game schedule.

The fielding animations were way ahead of their time. I mean the 1B do stretches scoops and picks.

Yeah I really wish we had a college baseball game today....so much fun.
