    Re: Revisiting MVP Baseball 2005

I tried for the longest time to make a custom hitting camera that mimicked MVP 2005. It was amazing. I came really really close by using the retro view and editing from there. At one point I had an additional season that was much shorter like 60 games or something where I even used the settings that closely matched MVP. I had a custom camera that I used for hitting and pitching, used meter pitching, directional hitting, would use the strike zone with the hot zones, even had the throwing meter on while using assisted fielding. It was a blast. It wasn’t MVP but I got as close as I could with the show. Might do it again lol. I use completely clean screen now but it was a throwback to the good old days.

MVP 2005 was one of my favorite games of all time. I have the PCSX2 emulator, and I have MVP 2005, 2005, MVP College Baseball 2006 and 2007. Even though the graphics are outdated, they look so crisp and clean in 4k with the emulator...and the gameplay is so good. I'm about to start up a Dynasty with UNC on both college games.

I’ve hit from retro camera on the Show for years and never realized the similarities to MVP until I read this.

MVP Baseball 2005 was everything to me back then.

I played on the PC and modded the stadiums. I cannot believe it's been almost 19 years. I stayed with that game until about 2007 or 08. I kept adding stadiums and updating the game with the crew at www.mvpmods.com.

My wife worked like 80 hours a week back then. We had just gotten married and lived in a tiny apartment in Phoenix. I would stay up all night working on graphics while she was working. I never played a whole season and rarely played the actual game. I just modded. But that mini-game with the tractors!!!!

Still have the box and both CDs sitting next to my desk.

I remember playing this on XBOX back in the day. Enjoyed a lot. Wasn't there complaints back then about a lot of bugs. Funny how it's now considered one of the GOAT baseball games in hindsight.

I remember your username! MVPmods holds a dear place in my heart. It made the game into one of the best gaming experiences I ever had and have been unable to find again. The game was great out if the box, but the mods added so much longevity. I think I played until 2009 or something.

Tried my hand at modding a little bit and created a few faces, but the real masterpieces came from truly talented people (I seem to recall someone called Jogar or something along those lines who was great at faces). The contributions made by all of you have really elevated an already fantastic game into a bonafide goat contender.

Your stadiums were some of my favorites and are included in many of the Total Classics single season mods that I created and released at MVPMods. Your 1970's stadiums were especially welcome when I was creating my first single season mod, Total Classics 1978.

Since you're on to The Show, I take it you're done with making Total Classics for MVP?
