    HUGE shout out to SCEA

I realize I may be a little bit late to the party, but I had to come here and give praise to SCEA for something I quite literally begged them for. I realize they may have done this without my asking, but it doesn't matter - All is well that ends well.

Back in April I wrote this to SCEA via a link on their website:

"Dear Sir/Ma'am, I humbly write to you today as an unofficial representative of a somewhat significant group of players who purchase and enjoy your game annually. While I am not sure if this is the appropriate outlet to state such an issue, I am hopeful that this will at least reach the proper person in charge of such matters.

I understand this may sound highly trivial, but to many of us it means the world in your game. Our issue is with the Franklin Pro Classic batting glove. This glove may be the most recognizable piece of baseball equipment ever, as it has been the most worn batting glove since the 1970's up until a few years ago. This glove is always the glove pictured in the display selection menu, yet the version in game is a duller, gold plated version, which is much less aesthetic and common. Not only has the glove in the display picture been worn by nearly every Superstar from the mid 1970's up until the mid 2010's, it is still in use in its classic form by many players today.

It's just that many of us, like myself, have poured over a 1,000 hours into the game creating what we call "classic rosters" for ourselves and others to enjoy. The absence of this glove is huge, because it is so common, so nostalgic, and so nice. It really means so much to us, especially because the game this year is done so well. Also, did I mention many current players wear it in its classic form?

In short, if there is any way possible, any way at all, even if we have to pay for it in DLC (I would personally pay over $100 for it, but that's just me) that you can include this in an update or DLC option, so, so many people would thank you. I know it's potentially asking a lot, and I would not take the time write this if it was not important, but I have to at least make an effort.

I do appreciate your time and hopeful consideration, from the bottom of my heart. I know others feel the same way as well. I never write to companies and I never ask or expect favors, but if just this once, it would mean so much to many people. Thank you for reading.

    Fan since 2006,

    - (Name)"

Months went by after writing this and I noticed no changes, until I eventually stopped playing MLB 23 and kept at my go-to, MLB 20. A few days ago I booted up 23 again, and low and behold - The actual Franklin Classic Batting Glove, the one in the display picture, the one so commonly used, and the one that was requested had made it in the game!

Now, I am not so arrogant to think that my plea is the reason, but it doesn't matter. To me it feels like it, and that's enough. I never, ever have felt heard or appreciated as a customer by any gaming company, but this time, this one time, I feel like my voice was heard. To me this was huge, not only the addition, but the content that I longed so much for.

I may not put much time into any future MLB games just because I still MLB 20, but you can bet your *** I will buy them all now just to show support for a company that I felt supported me and the community I enjoy.

As we know, it really is the "little things" that matter. Thanks SCEA.

Now can you get them to fix the new Nike 4's they put in the game!! No matter what we do the Nike symbol is locked and we can't change it to be anything other than white.

It's too bad cuz they are bad *** cleats.... And all white cleats with a team colored Nike symbol looks even better.

Lol, I don't know if it was me man, but I would like to believe I helped. I'm glad you enjoy it too, it was really past time for them to bring them back or just not remove them at all!

Agreed. I highly doubt we beggars can be choosers and start demanding tons of equipment changes and fixes, but I wish we could. I also wish they kept all old equipment models in the game, as well as uniforms, like they do with stadiums. Removing the Dodger blues and Phils solids for MLB 20 killed me. They have the licenses for these brands already, and I imagine there is some sort of catalog they have to follow, but if they got the okay from MLB/Nike/etc... to just use a couple of past models, say for cleats, that would be amazing. Having some 70's/80's/90's styled cleats, bats, and batting gloves would be a game changer but I won't hold my breath or even ask for that. Although look at what 2K's eras mode has done... Maybe for a tradition rich sport like baseball they could consider some gear updates, just saying...

Man, don't even get me going. I doubt I am the golden goose of The Show community, but maybe if we all can get together as a collective and voice a lot of support over some reasonable features we can at least be heard.

I sent them one as well about being on the PS4/Xbox1 next year and having a few more throwback uniforms added and they replied immediately with a generic "thank you" letter. Someone had posted their link on here back in 2020 and asked for the missing 1983-1993 Giants away uniform and they made it in this year. Small victory form an aesthetics point of view but I had fun doing a franchise/season with the Giants in those beautiful 1983-1993 Home and Away uniforms and Gabe Kapler rocked that beautiful dugout jacket that Frank Robinson/Roger Craig/Dusty Baker wore during that time.

HUGE shout out to SIE. I wonder if they changed their name back 2016 because they didn't want to be confused with EA. In any event, HUGE thanks, Baumy and SDS.

Re: HUGE shout out to SCEA

I typically will post requests to the SCERA team regarding Ballpark issues. One year, I had posted a suggestion along with photos regarding the City sign at Fenway Park. The sign wasn't lit up and seemed dull. Even suggested using the neon lines that are clearly the design of the actual real life sign.

Lo and behold, when the next version of the game came out, it was in! Was really pumped to see that. Since then, they've re-designed the City sign and it looks better. Now if I can get them to make the backdrop at T-Mobile actually light up (WAY too dark) as well as the Coca-Cola sign and 'Cardinals' neon letters on top of the scoreboard at Busch.
