Why are franchise budgets so high?

I finished the off season and entered my second season with a Jays franchise and every other team has budget space exceeding 80million. ( except the Mets who are still in the red)

Will this excess of $$$ affect how to CPU teams operate?

I should only care about my own team but this kind of bothers me.

One thing I think needs tweaked is the players on the 40 man but are in the minors and making the MLB minimum salary, that dollar amount should be $100,000 until they are actually called up. Sort of prorated. It would be nice if you had to deal with those 14 or 15 players differently than the rest of your 90 man, where their salary is more fluid and dynamic throughout the season, depending on whether they're in the minors or at the big league level.
    T-BONE.

    Talking about things nobody cares.
