No. I want the game out before Opening Day, even if I'm going to be waiting on a roster update to start my franchise.

Hopefully sometime by next Friday we'll know the exact release date. If it's a March 22 (early pre-order release), we have 55 days until.

If it's something like April 19, we have 83 days.

I'd be very surprised if the release date goes beyond March 26. The development strategy these days is to release and patch. It is a better marketing strategy to get your product to market and then fix as you go.

The days of waterfall development are mostly over. This is where an end date is selected and then moved if the product is not ready. Things are done in a more agile oriented process these days and release-fix is the industry standard.

Good and bad for the consumer...you get the game early or when you are hoping to, but then have to live with some glaring issues and the patching schedule.

And even with a delayed release, Sony will still need multiple multiple patches. Today's sports video games in particular are so complex, I can't envision a time where all sports games won't require an entire set of patches thru out the season. It's a necessary evil. Like the Dodgers and Yankees.

It used to release at begin of Spring Training. I prefer that start date. As it is, it is a challenge to get thru full season even with early March release largely because there are no options to carryover rosters. The top rosters aren't ready until June.

Agreed. Patches are now a part of the methodology. Back in the day, they'd hang you for constant major fixes being released. It was used as an example of poor design and coding.

                    Times sure have changed...

I don't care when you release it. Just try to make it better. Add things that are not there. I would have figured you would have challenges at every base by now for both teams for years. It's not even brought up as a possibility. You guys bring the world baseball classic in and make it diamond dynasty exclusive. Why not just let us play it? You seem to have zero interest in improving the game.

I'd be okay with a later release as long as it's justified... meaning a major leap in graphics, presentation, gameplay, etc.

                            Otherwise, no way.

                              In a way, I don’t care.

Still actually playing MLB 22 on PS5.

23 was glitchy (notably baserunners not responding correctly to situations, while outfielders would stop too short of running for fly ball in front of them)….at least issues with the ‘free’ Xbox series X | S Game Pass version.

Another reason I like 22 is because no expanded playoffs or interleague play.

I don't have an opinion one way or the other about the postseason other than I don't want it to expand to allow as many teams as the NBA has, but I have to tell you, I am loving the way they do scheduling now. The Commissioner has made his share of misfires, but the ''everyone plays everyone'' is a bull's-eye hit in my opinion.

And, the only way I want to see a mid-April release is if MLB starts scheduling more doubleheaders and can compress the season while delaying Opening Day until mid-April. And also wrapping up the regular season by mid-September. Every MLB team should play doublheaders every Saturday. Every team could play 23 doubleheaders and knock off 11 days at the start of the season and 11 days at the end of the season. Then I'm okay with a mid-April release.
