    But at what cost.
If Sony raised the MSRP they'd have a real revolt on the game. The current one doesn't even register as a blip on their radar because DD carries the day. Raising the price for everybody to pay for something relatively fewer use in comparison to the broader picture is a cardinal sin. But somebody has to pay for it. And that somebody is the consumer. I want Y2Y roster ports to return too, and would be willing to pay extra. But I'm pretty sure I'm in the extreme minority.

Why would we have to pay extra for somethin like that?

We won't pay for something extra like that.
        We absolutely won't.
That's my personal opinion of what it would take to get it back. Just for the sake of argument, lets say 100% of consumers were more than okay with paying $100 for a standard edition version of MLBTS, no free ballcap, no half a gazillion stubs and 42 free pack of DD cards and that extra $30 a head, Sony could have the extra resources it needs to hire more developers to work on things like Y2Y saves, A.I. Bullpen management, custom schedules, you name it, your wish is their command. But back to reality and away from fantasy, I would say less 1% of consumers would be willing to pay extra to get something because the 99% would rather not pay for it, either it be given to them free, or no one else should have it either. Not even the very miniscule minority that would love to pay extra if it meant getting a closer to reality MLB experience. But that's no knock against the majority of Show consumers. It's the mentality of society in general, why should we pay for something if we just keep protesting loudly enough, there's a slim one percent chance of getting something without paying extra. I'm aware in this instance we used to get it for free, but inflation and the cost of living increases have always been a thing and weren't going to disappear just because of what features MLBTS had between 2014-2020.

I’m getting more and more offended by the news stadiums ported across. Porting rosters is the exact same process. One data template overwriting another. Not reinventing the wheel.

This is a slap in the face.

Yeah, maybe they ought to save memory space and remove it completely if it's the exact same thing you could use by just sticking with MLBTS23. or 22 or 21. Not even bother having it for people who do actually want it in 24.

And now, all of that is gone, or at least extremely condensed. Its hard to watch stories unfold and enjoy the story telling when you know that at some point its going to end, unless of course you choose to stick with the current version. And while that is an option, I remember a time when it wasn't an either/or option. I could benefit from the newest updates and features all while continuing the stories being told on the field.
And here I am, stuck between choosing between the updated features and gameplay of '24, or continuing the stories and connection, with my '23 franchise.

The fact that I'm considering is likely my answer, but damn I wish I didn't have to choose.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

If they put a paywall up for this feature, I'd pay. No hesitation whatsoever.

I'd pay obscene amounts for an external roster editor.

Creating 2700+ players for a retro roster.. 1 player at a time.... vs $10 or whatever they decided to charge for a port. are you kidding me? Thats easy math.

.. or look at it this way. Say your time is worth whatever you make hourly at your job. Do the math there. How many hours to create a classic roster? A good one, with realistic appearances and accurate equipment. Or even if you blitzed through it with generic appearances, just inputting attributes and ratings. This feature isn't worth $5? $10? $20?.... more like $500.. $1000.. $5000...

                This feature is priceless.
