Re: Storylines, Derek Jeter
I agree, I care about franchise the most. I do mess with the other things. A lot the first few weeks game is out while I wait on first updated roster for franchise to add all the Japan guys and such. I do not mind these additions to the game as more things to do for people the better. But I am waiting and excited to see what franchise and gameplay has to offer this year.Comment

Re: Storylines, Derek Jeter
Moments were cool in the beginning. I remember when they added the Jose Bautista moment with his epic batfip, I was so excited to see it in game. When I played his moment, I expected to go in, hit a homerun and see his bat flip. To my surprise, I hit a ground ball and had to restart. 10 minutes later, I hit a home run, but it wasn't a no doubter, and I didn't see his batflip. Needless to say, my expectations far exceeded the reality of the game mode. Since then, it's been more of the same. Frustration, time wasted and no real value other than merely checking it off and moving onto the next one. I suspect no difference in these "new" storylines and all rewards will be DD items, which is cool to some. But not for me.
On the other hand, I can fully appreciate SDS's desire to teach young fans who have not seen these old highlights of players they are collecting in DD.
As a young MLBTS player, I can collect a 99 Griffey and be excited, but to see how great and cool of a player he was before I was born would probably add to my excitement of playing with his card in game. From that perspective this mode can be fun.
I'd say a large majority of this game's users are at an age or baseball fan level where they are pretty familiar with the players they choose to highlight with this mode.Comment

Storylines, Derek Jeter
Meh, not what I was hoping to see. This looks like more moments but with a fresh coat of paint by the looks of it. Also the first shot from picture/baseball card to videogame looks pretty bad, graphics and animation wise.

Re: Storylines, Derek Jeter
I don’t mind storylines being in at all. I don’t think anyone does. The problem that I’m starting to have is them being prioritized seemingly above everything else in the game. Now, I don’t mean being prioritized being put into the game, I mean being prioritized by the marketing. This just seems like something that a minority of players will be interested in. The marketing team is dropping the ball so far IMO. We may very well get more info today but to this point, the marketing strategy this year hasn’t been good.
You are right at the moment it's not great optics. BUT we still a month from release of game so I am not ready to jump off the ledge at this point.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

Re: Storylines, Derek Jeter
Not impressed. What I would be impressed with is a "Jeter" Era, where I can start in 1996 and play his career or run a team against him. And SDS could also throw in an 80s Era and a 2000s Era....hmmm what an idea....Comment

Re: Storylines, Derek Jeter
Meh. Not really what I was hoping to see today. I'm glad to see them expand storyline though as it's makes the moments a bit more engaging having some documentary like cut scenes between them to set the stage. Nothing groundbreaking (I also don't think they are claiming that it is....), but I agree with others that I hope this isn't the main subject of this Thursday's premiereChicago Cubs
