just come up with a 2024 patch update that updates rosters and schedules and that is your game for year 2. and then they have more time to work on other things new features etc. and not be so rushed on a 9 month cycle. I mean some games are in development for 10 years. this really is effecting sports games now and MLB the show it is starting to get closer to that EA rep since 2021
Could you imagine what would happen on this site if the Show, or any sports game for that matter, decided to go to a 2yr cycle to do as you suggest. It would be ANARCHY!!! That is the problem Sports games companies have to deal with.

It is sad that they really didn’t make any qualify of life improvements to stadium creator like the bullpens and the outfield walls. But to take the time to only update the stadium creator with more dinosaurs and monsters is disappointing. Was the real last update to stadium creator in year 2 when they finally added night games and weather? Something that should have been in year 1.

people are complaining 'its the same game with a roster update' anyway so what would it matter? they only reason they make another game is the contract to MLB

No they told us that this year basically. They said gameplay was in a good place so they didnt touch it and we can see graphics are largely the same

I like your second idea. I’m also in favor of selling 2 versions of The Show, Madden, and 2k. One version for franchise play only that also includes the Negro League and all-time historical superstars. The other version is for Diamond Dynasty, Madden Ultimate Team, and all the other fluff the companies make money with.

Versions with less content means more features would be able to be added. Patches and updates would likely work better too due too instead of this breaking that and that breaking these 2 things, etc.

I must have missed this quote. They did say they feel like hitting is in a good place and remains largely unchanged. But I didn't see any comments to that effect on other gameplay elements like pitching and fielding.

Nothing was missed, as you read the article correctly.

The only aspect of gameplay that was largely unchanged was hitting because they felt good about it, the community felt good about it, and the metrics suggested it was in a good place.

Pitching was tinkered with and fielding was expanded upon.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

The developers don't need this kind of sarcasm:

                    1. Developers work on what they are told to work on. They have little to no choice in the matter.
                    2. With all of the game developer layoffs over the past several years, it's very evident that being a developer is not a life of luxury at all. It's quite a scary one knowing that at any second, you're out of your job, or god forbid, your career.
                    3. Game publishers and C level suits are where our disdain should be directed, not the developers just trying to earn a living in a field that they are (probably) very passionate about.

They said hitting was unchanged, due to people being happy with it. I don’t believe they mentioned anything else.

With AI coming you can bet game developers will have an even harder time finding and keeping jobs in the gaming industry.

What stinks is this has always been one of the fun and exciting times when we wait for the new details about the new game. But now it is like ehhh.

I preordered it because I buy it every year. But this year is probably the least amount of excitement I have for the new game. In years past, these would be the times that I would struggle to keep playing the current year's game cause I would be too excited to play the new game.

100% agree. Also sucks nothing mentioned about the strikeout issue many of us had vs the cpu last year. It took me 10 months to find a good place with sliders as I’m always checking out your sliders thread also lol. With all of that I’m sticking with 23 as I finally have it playing decently. I really hoped for franchise additions but given the rtts trailer and such I’m not expecting anything.
I would buy the game if they even gave the smallest of additions.. non roster invitees, winter leagues anything!

First year I am not buying since I bought a PS3 specifically for the Show in 2009. I have every steelbook from MLB 14-23. I have always bought the premium edition for early access. This is the first year in 15 years I will not put any money into the Show.

I have never felt so disinterested and saddened at this game.
