Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Details and Trailer Revealed
They’ve not even mentioned Franchise yet. At least give them a chance to cover it.No specific mentions of bullpen or lineup logic changes. Disappointing. I guess they pick and choose what feedback they listen to. They listened to it with the hitting to leave it the same but plugged their ears regarding the bullpen feedback that's been given to them for a decade now.
The game can play as well as it does on the field, but all of that goodwill is tossed aside immediately when the CPU manager gets into their pen and you see how bad their management is. Another year of me sticking with OOTP for any franchise needs and playing DD whenever I feel like getting some gameplay on the field in. I'd love to get into franchise mode in The Show, but they give me no reason to.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Details and Trailer Revealed
Could be, but they don't exactly get the benefit of the doubt since it has been an issue for eons now. With how little they touched on the logic, it's probably safe to assume any major logic overhauls(which is what the bullpen logic needs) would have been mentioned. Given their track record on this issue, it would be foolish to hold my breath.
This isn't a franchise specific issue. It's a gameplay thing. Play Now or Franchise, it doesn't matter, the CPU mismanages the bullpen in a way no manager in real life would. Maybe they will surprise us and mention it in the franchise blog. That would be welcome, but like I said above, given how long this has been an issue in the series, they don't really get any benefit of the doubt here.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

It said AI logic changes. So we don’t know for sure they didn’t fix bullpen logic. No specific mentions of bullpen or lineup logic changes. Disappointing. I guess they pick and choose what feedback they listen to. Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Details and Trailer Revealed
Few more graphical things I noticed in the trailer:
- Hair physics look legitimately good from what I can tell
- Toronto STILL has far too much red in the crowd.
- Flapless helmets on the first base coaches (not sure if those are new)
- The night lighting in the Harper HR shot is atrocious, I have no idea how that one made it into a promotional trailer.
- Clipping issues galore on Toni StoneComment

I'm not having a heart attack over this. The gameplay aint broke, so no reason to fix it. Now if franchise mode/RTTS/stadium creator is this unchanged then we might have a problem.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Trailer
I'm eager to see how this plays out in game, and not only in game, but how it plays out over a season. Its one thing to read about it, and to see a 9 sec clip of a portion of it in action, but its another thing entirely to see it play out over time with the controller in hand. This year, we’ve introduced around 400 new animations and logic improvements, meticulously addressing any remaining areas needing attention, particularly focusing on fielder urgency. Animations are fine-tuned to ensure seamless integration into every conceivable situation, from routine plays, to relays off the wall, to high-pressure moments like rundowns and run saving double plays to end an inning. By prioritizing smarter AI and efficient animations, we strive to elevate the realism and strategic depth of defensive gameplay.
It definitely has my attention.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

So is the section of improvements where they would have told us which " logic" was looked at so thoroughly? I.E. bullpen logic more specifically? wouldnt that be under gameplay improvements? guessing theres no new addition there, but possibly a under the hood thing or just the same exact thing as the last 8+ years? just curious cuz they say how closely they pay attention to the community and all in the articleComment

Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Details and Trailer Revealed
Just wow. This reads like some patch notes that an indie dev team banged out over the weekend, not a brand new game....
I also like how they carefully worded the first bullet point saying 400 new animation and logic improvements. Those 2 things don't even belong together in the same sentence. So how many new animations are we actually getting. My bet is less than 100. Then each additional bullet point is just an addendum to the first.
Where's the improved bullpen logic? This has been a problem for as along as I can remember.
Where's the improved trade logic? Or CPU roster management?
Where's the improved Stat tracking/historical stats/career stats?
What happened to fleshing out the rest of the crowd models?
Look, I want to love this game again, but this dev team needs a shake up because they are just going through the motions at this point and then Sony still spits out a game and charges us $70.
It may be time for a new Publisher to put together a dev team for a proper AAA baseball game. Microsoft has the rights to High Heat Baseball, let's bring that back...Comment

MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Details and Trailer Revealed
Agreed
23's gameplay was the best to date. Damn near perfect.
What I would love to see is a true upgrade on bullpen and lineup logic, CPU team building logic, expanded rosters (sorely needed) and expanded amateur draft. And build off the new scouting system and give a much needed QOL upgrade to the scouting interface and adding a watch/draft list feature.
That's not asking much is it?

Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Trailer
They need something to crow about to keep bringing in the dough while they work on the true next gen version.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Gameplay Trailer
This actually reminds me of NHL 14 and other games where they refined the previous game, but they were working on the next gen game behind the scenes.
It's really(and hopefully) the only thing that makes sense....
This gameplay reveal video is getting destroyed all over social media.
Hopefully there's a dedicated franchise/presentation section upcoming because those will be big.Comment
