I'm sure there is a reason they don't add those things to stadium creator. Bullpens might be an issue they haven't resolved yet as far as getting the pitchers to show up wherever you move the bullpen around.... Distance markers and color linings I would think would be easy to add. But who knows.

Re: In, out or waiting?
But they could still cater to both crowds right? Small stuff like adding distance markers on the outfield walls and colour linings, ability to move the bullpens off the field etc.
At one point you would think someone at SDS would say ok we have enough dinosaurs now lets give the other user base also something.
I think they look at the park creations more for minor league games or spring games, hence the wacky things like Dinosaurs lolMets Baseball, All Day Every Day

Re: In, out or waiting?
Same here about how I feel about the sport and is the main reason I might not grab the game this year.Waiting. For the first time in my life I've never felt more disconnected from the sport. The MLB is not in a good place in my opinion but that's an entirely different discussion.
I've purposely been unplugged after barely touching last year's copy as I feel like I hold this game to a standard that it doesn't quite touch anymore. Not sure how long I'll hold out - if reviews are great from the start I could see myself caving within a week LOL. If reviews are bad, I'll probably wait for when the games on sale.Comment

Re: In, out or waiting?
I'm 100% out.
I just am burnt out I think on this franchise. I'm cool with staying with 23 and my updated rosters.

Re: In, out or waiting?
They don't only need to cater to one demographic now do they? Almost no one on these boards gives a crap about dinosaurs but yet we have them. They could do both..they choose not to.You could easily make the case that marketing the game towards other demographics in order to grow the fan base, in this case dinosaurs, bombed out buildings and other silly items in stadium creator geared towards getting a much younger crowd to purchase the game and make crazy cartoon stadiums, would make sense. The young crowd they would be marketing towards, wouldn't give a crap about Y2Y saves.Comment

And that is why games will never improve because people like you who just buy regardless if the game is good or bad.Favorites:

Re: In, out or waiting?
My first version of The Show was 15... You'd have me believe the game hasn't improved since then?
They get the most important thing right; gameplay.
Cries not to buy might satisfy individually, its pointless in the overall scheme of things. Madden.. your spot gets filled immediately tenfold. Not worth keystrokes. Now that MLBtS is on XBox and Switch, its basically the same deal. Writing a personal letter or email would have a greater effect than keeping the $70 in your pocket.Last edited by Madden08PCgmr; 03-13-2024, 10:18 AM.You want free speech?

Re: In, out or waiting?
Guess I'm the problem as well then bc I buy it every year. And for the record, the game vastly improved over the years.

In, out or waiting?
Yeah I don't jive with some of the sentiments of no improvement.
Gameplay has improved drastically from the PS3 and now PS4 days.
I have been quite fair in my objective criticism of The Show since the move to multi platform and the current gen consoles.
23 IMO it all came together nicely with a truly improved gameplay in all phases of the game and presentation being really clean and improved and next level with the regional theme which IMO is awesome.
Are there features I wish we had back that were vital to me as a franchise player? Oh yeah and it's been documented. And yes they can do some more (expanded rosters, create coaches etc).
But to say with a straight face there has been no improvement.....I simply disagree.
21 and 22 were misses for me for various reasons.
23 is a huge hit for me and now that I figured out the new scouting? I love it. And yeah it's an improvement....and just needs some QOL improvements in terms of being able to sort your prospects and see all of them like we used too on a better screen, having a draft list you can also add too is long overdue, etc etc.
Anyway I am also part of this so called "problem".
It's the best AAA sports game on the market and I also love NBA2K23 but The Show is still tops in my book.

Re: In, out or waiting?
If they haven't figured out how to monetize the number of hours people play their game that's a poor business model. There are roughly 3 billion gamers in the world. You are 1 of 3 billion. I highly doubt develops are making decisions based on "fun", and not deciding instead what functions are a waste of time and money, when there are 3 billion gamers buying games and that much money to be made. I guarantee if Y2Y saves was a money maker, it would be in the game.≡Comment

Re: In, out or waiting?
This is my thing.
This year they are actually doing some good things.
- Adding women to the game (fun gimmick)
- Making RTTS and DD separate again (MUCH needed)
- Some graphic fixes (not enough for me)
- New legends (Not for me)
I know there is more, but is it something large? Drafting potential 2-way players? Okay... gimmick.
I just feel like RTTS is a bore. I would love an actual story, and then it opens up into a sandbox just play and have fun mode.
Franchise is what it is at this point. Do you really feel like an Owner? They've done a nice job at being a GM. But I just need more meat on these bones, I guess.

Re: In, out or waiting?
I am now settled on fully in.
I have decided to move on from my '23 franchise and start fresh in '24. First pitch of 2024 Spring Training is scheduled for 12:10am Friday.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: In, out or waiting?
I agree with this...Franchise still needs a lot of work, particularly budgets/FA logic/trading, but gameplay and scouting got dialed in last year. I have Gamepass, but I'd be buying every year anyways. I think having Ridin doing the full rosters again from Day 1 and having injuries built in from the start is a nice touch.Yeah I don't jive with some of the sentiments of no improvement.
